Well new project for me atm , throughout the summer we've had heavy winds or rain here which doesnt seem like its going to let up now , still been avoiding crashing the heli whenever possible but the wind has made that pretty much near non existant to be honest. So, tried to find something to entertain me that didnt cost the earth and was simple-ish. I discovered to my delight a GWS FW 190 on the bay which was pretty cheap so i snapped that up , then , stumbled upon parkjets.
Parkjets are cheap and pretty easy to make depending on which one you choose and whats more inportant crashable eg I dont care if i destroy it lol i just remove the electronics and build another. First one i built was an f18 which promptly died on its maiden voyage due to reasons still unknown ( maybe the motor wasnt powerful enough or the elevon servo failed or it just could have been too heavy with the 2200mah battery )

still needed sanding but you get the idea, no more pictures as it died a horrible death lol.
My current project is the Saab Grippen a real labour of love as i LOVE this plane it looks like a plane should

again some minor sanding needed and then a maiden after that im hoping for a friendly airbrusher to give her a nice coat ( no hints there Gaz at all lol )

All this to prepare me for this

which now has a 1100kv motor 30 amp esc and 2200mah batt with a 9x6 triple bladed prop, more than enough power.

Next is to find a slow flying trainer for my 12 yr old daughter (shes got the bug and she aint touchin my heli ) and fit it with 2 rate gyros , one for elevator and one for aileron which if i set them up right should act like a simplistic flight control system that will assist her if she panics thus hopefully building her confidence quicker rather than her giving up due to crashing and the loss of confidence that we all know follows soon after.

The BEST thing is, each plane (f18 ,saab grippen has cost me (minus electronics) about £5 !!! £2.50 for a sheet of 6mm depron £1 for glue and a few minor other things which cost literally pennies plus time of course but being honest id rather train on one of these then move onto something maybe more detailed.
