Hi,
Can anyone offer some advice on this problem.?
I'm fairly new to Heli's and got a Medevac about 4 weeks ago, played with it and got the hang of hovering and basic moving about (fly away, turn round and fly back) so i decided to go for something on the next rung.
Saw a Honey Bee CP2 on ebay for £35 and snapped it up.
It said the rotor set up might need tuning but having read through a few posts on here, i figured i could cope with that and so i bought it.
When it turned up, i charged the battery which took about 5 mins to get the green light so i fitted it and switched everything on ready to try it....
The throttle powered it up but not enough to get any lift and so it was just shaking on the floor.
After about 10 seconds, the power started to drop off slowly and after about 1 min, the rev's were down to about 1/4 throttle even though it was still turned up to full.
I thought the battery must be dead so i got a brand new one, charged it and still the same problem. Bought a new charger and tried again. Still the same problem. Thought it might be the engine so I got a new one and fitted it. Still the same so i figured it must be the 4 in 1 cause that is the only electrical thing left so i replaced that too and it still does the same thing. I took it to a model shop and asked their advice and they said that the pitch is the wrong way round and its forcing the heli down as it gets faster (I've looked at the set up posts and have eveything wired up the same way although the switches are ,down, down, up, down so it runs the same as my medevac). This doesn't solve the problem of the engine slowing down but obviously would help get it airbourne but the throttle switch reversed just makes the throttle start from the top and get faster as it comes down and doesn't reverse the pitch of the blades so it is still trying to force itself down. Mad Mad
is something wired up backwards (not according to the set up thread on here) or am i missing something obvious to some one with experience.?
Feeling rather peeved now as i have spent enough on it now to have bought a new one and avoided all the aggravation... Embarassed
