Heliguy Forum - RC heli forum

Well the last topic was removed in the database deletion so I thought Id try starting it again because there where some really great stories in there.

The purpose of this thread is to share your daily stories of flying, or attempting to fly helis! (just like the great thread in the Trex 450 forum) I want to know all about the trial and tribulations of your flight. Mechanical issues, progression in leaning new moves, battling the weather, crashes, incidents with the public, you name it I want to hear about it. For me, now I have my head round the technical aspect of helis, this sort of discussion is what really brings me back to the forum.

Ill quickly describe yesterday flight again just for an example:

Wind was around 10mph so was able to start practicing circuits and FFF. Im feeling happy with nose in (Video) so Im focusing on getting over my next irrational fear, speed! They really need to fit helis with brakes! Anyhow, i burnt through 5 Lipos and by the end of it was starting to get the hang of it. Where i was going wrong before was not bringing the nose up before trying to do a banked turn, i started getting the hang on pitching up just before the turn and it started coming together. Still a long was to go though.

For the first time ever, a member of the public must have spotted the heli and came over to see me, it was an old guy who told me all about when he used to fly planes. He was really nice and typical of all the other RC'ers Ive met so far.
