Hi all,

I hope it is not too presumptuous but I thought I would have quite a few build questions and that it would be best to keep them all under one banner so that others can reference then when they embark on a similar build. To that end I opened my own build topic.

Please see important question below

PROGRESS TO DATE:
-------------------------
I started yesterday and ensured that all the screws in the head assembly had Loctite applied.
I added all the rest of the bits to the head assembly including the seesaw, flybar, paddles, linkages etc.

GENERAL TIP:
----------------
For me, when putting things together for the first time, I do NOT Loctite the screws. The reason is that because I am unfamilar with the build (it is my first time) I sometimes get things wrong and need to undo screws etc to get things right. Therefore I get it all together without Loctite until I am entirely happy with it and then go round each screw one at a time and remove it and then put it back this time with Loctite.

In other progress, I have assembled the body and have started on the tail. This has led to three questions.

1) MOST IMPORTANT. Where the tail boom attaches to the body, the screws that clamp the body round the boom are SO tight (from the factory build) that the hex nut heads are threatening to strip. Is there any way to loosen these bolts which I think may have threadlock on them? Did I read somewhere that applying heat helped? If so, what is the best way to apply the heat? I have a small jewellers blowtorch which will permit spot heating. Will heating damage the nice blue anodized metal?

This is REALLY important because if those bolt heads get stripped I am in big trouble.

2) When putting the belt down the tail boom, how do you ensure that it is untwisted so that when you put in the twist described in the manual, you know everything is right?

3) Other than friction and those blue rubber grommets, is there no fixing for the skids? They seem quite sturdy and rigid but I was surprised they were not screwed in place.

Thanks all as ever,

Jonathan
