Just to update the regulars- we had some issues with our old server including memory issues, SQL connections and timeouts - apologies. Hopefully we won't have anymore issues for a while and I'll have a contingency plan rather than trying to negotiate when the server is already on its knees.
First we tried optimising and when this failed we had to recycle the server every night until we got the upgrade of the memory and the processor- which involved a complete site migration to a new server. After a whole load of scrapping with the host the heliguy is battered and bruised and also had his wallet stolen by them!
