Yeah definitely much better without the training gear. Dont throw them away though, you may find they come in very handy when you move onto nose in hovering.

Sounds like progress is being made dragonslayer. The first step in learning to fly - hovering and orientation - are the most frustrating. Once you get past that its gets a lot more fun!
