Heh, I've watched one limp into the air on a 3S before, but it could barely shift itself. Mine can't even do THAT Rolling Eyes

I did all the soldering myself, apart from the ones inside the lipo packs, ...

Hey Andy, thanks for the suggestions. I am a little lost as to what to try and check first! I couldn't find a use-by date on the packs, but they are fairly heavy. I've mounted them such that the centr ...

This claims to have similar discharge rate to my current setup. Having said that, the cabling on this lipo looks thicker - much more like what I'd expect for a high current application.

For example, I find it confusing to see Heliguy lists under the 500-size lipo batteries section.

It seems way too low a discharge rate for a 500 class helicopter?? Loving the price, though Wink

Yeah I'm hoping it's something nice and simple like the batteries. It's odd though - the motor should probably only draw some 30A in a hover perhaps.

With a 12T pinion at 22V and a 1800kV motor, th ...

Thanks Wink I checked the specs for it again, and although it loudly says "6S" under Lipo batteries it also says it has a max voltage of 22.2V. That's 3V less than a fully charged 6S... Rolling Eyes the spe ...

Yeah I believe that's what the manual means be lead angle, though changing from 10-30 degrees didn't seem to improve matters.

On 3S it works as expected, soft start and all, but 6S it jerks and wi ...

Hmm, went back to 3S and the ESC and motor work perfectly again. It can soft-start and everything (no-load) but I can't fly it on 3S.

Something about 6S seems to be irritating the system, but the E ...

Hi there,

This could be an obvious one! Running a Turnigy Typhoon 1800kv motor on an HK500 and a 50A ESC. I couldn't get the thing in the air on a 3S lipo (predictably) but not because of low heads ...

Okay, so I've made a Y-lead and am now trying to run at 22.2V, but I can't seem to get it to spin at all.

It initialises nicely and waits for input, but when you slowly increase the thrott ...

Tempting... I really can't find that rattle!

Were I wanting to fly 3D I'd probably blame the ESC for the mysterious bogging on 3S. It is a little underrated. But this should be irrelevant for spoo ...
