You're correct de-mundo..
The main shaft is too short. Both fever sites sell an extended 80mm shaft that just bolts on in the normal way.
Its a straight swap. But the Guru site sells 2 main shafts ...

If you remove the fly-bar weights. It reacts like a hyper active ferret.
I remember doing this when I was first learning.
I was all over the place..Even now I fly with the weights 25mm from the cen ...

Sounds like to me you've got the servo reversed for the throttle..
I'd take the motor back out and throw the servo reverser switch (Throttle) in the other direction, just to test it.

If your going for sims try some of the free ones first. Heli sim is quite good.

But If your going to spend money on a sim. Look no further than Phoenix RC.
You don't need to have a high specked PC ...
