It is a very simple mod to do, and looks pretty cool too.
Here is a step by step guide on how to do it.
TRex Canopy Mod
The first step was to find something to cover the hole made to clear the rubbing. I used a couple of servo
mounts from an RC plank.
The next step was to make up a template so I could transfer the exact shape required to my canopy.
I then glued them in place and blended them in so they looked like they were meant to be there.
Last but not least came the paint. In my last house I had a heated workshop. No such luck in my new house. I have been waiting for the weather to change so I could start painting. It just didn't happen. So off to the shops - back with a big heater. I now have a heated workshop.
Many people have said they liked my old orange canopy. It was the best colour for orientation, I should know I have tried most combinations. - so orange it is again.
The paint is still very soft, so I have been unable to do anything with it yet. Grommets and graphics still to do.
Anyway, here is a picture of how it sits on its shelf now. A couple of days and it should be hard enough for me to finish it off, but thats what I said in January.
UPDATE
As with all things, times change and it seems Orange wasn't the colour for long. Below is how the helicopter now looks !!
