Below are picture of the various components of a Lipo Battery.
Please do not try this yourself, as apart from the smell, fine dust gets everywhere.
I followed all safety measures when doing this and disposed of it safety by soaking in salt water for 3 hours.

The Battery before stripping commenced.


Outer plastic casing removed.


The two cells after separation.


One cell stripped.


The first cell unravelled.


Second cell unravelled.


Cell connection terminals.


This is all you are left with.




Below is a 3 cell Lipo that is beyond use:-



If your Lipo battery looks like the image above - please do not use it.








To dispose of a dead Lipo make a few holes in each cell with a pin or needle and soak in salt water for a few hours, use any empty bean tin etc and throw everything away when you have finished, including the pin!
