Strange question, but this is the problem. Hovered 2 packs yesterday (hovering being my limit), put it away with no problems. Today charged batteries, now not enough head speed to lift off, checked all obvious things, flybar paddles, blades, tx knob postions, remember everything was fine when I stopped previously, just will not get off ground.
Now, whilst flying yesterday, I was aware that the main gear and pinion mesh was pretty poor. I modified the main frame for the 3800 brushless, and its never been very good since. Today, when spooling up, the mesh was even worse, and I see that there is wear on the pinion teeth, and a portion of the main gear teeth show wear. It does not appear to be slipping or missing when turning by hand, but could it be? causing lack of head speed ? and no take off?
Just before I stopped flying yesterday, I noticed that the tail had started to slightly wag, first time it had done this, could this be a symptom of the same poor mesh?
I just want to sort the problem and not have to buy a load of parts, although I will get a new main gear. Has anybody got a good source for an upgrade main gear, as I think the stock one is a bit poor, it tends to wobble up and down when turning.
Thanks
