Didn't seem to hard to do, just glad I had the right tools (like a GOOD small philips screwdriver and tweezers to hold the screws in their place).
Was easier than replacing the main gear in my Belt CP the first time I did it, as expected.
For those of you who don't remember my original post about my first Lama, after about 30 crashes (some of them more than 40 feet fall) wind cause me to crash into a tree at about 30 feet off the ground. I killed the throttle of corse, but then the heli was stuck in the tree. Unable to get it down any other way, I resorted to full throttle, which got it out of the tree, but I could hear gears stripping and the flybar dissapeared into history and hasn't been found to this day. The chopper then fell about 30 feet into grass.
Damage was:
Stripped B-gear.
Missing Fly (Stabilizer) bar.
Broken Blades.
Broken Tail.
Tab broken off the inner shaft that the Top Blade Assembly mounts to
Stripped gear in Forward/Reverse servo (co-pilots' side of chopper).
This is by far the most damaged I've ever had in crash to my Lama V3. Impressive damage, after the horrible crashes it has been through and has come out with almost no damage at all.
The only thing I have not fixed is the servo 'cause I don't know where I should buy one and get the best deal here in the U.S.
I buy all my stuff from raidentech.com and they don't include the servos or servo gears in their Lama V3 Spare Parts section.
I just finished a test fly here in my living room and everything checks out! This is the first time I've flown my original Lama indoors, cause I really don't have room in my house to do it, but I couldn't wait as it is raining outside
My second Lama is sitting upstairs with a stripped B-gear and broken blades, due to me letting a friend fly it and he crashed it into rocks and did not kill the throttle
I shall go upstairs now to fix it, since the spare parts for it came yesterday with my new and 3rd lama V3 along with the parts to fix my first one. Since shipping costs are so high, I just couldn't stand to pay that much shipping with just so little parts, so I decided to go ahead and get another Lama, just to have a new one around if I ever need it!
