digital servo and expencive gyro

ok I'm just starting off my my belt cp (standard servos soon upgrading the spektrum ones) + DX6 radio gear.

I notice that a lot of people go for digital servo and gyro package, do i really need this as currently i have standard esky tail servo and telebee gyro HH.

Whats the advantage of having the upgrade combo servo and gyro. Can i still fly inverted and do some loops without all that ?
