This first pic is just of my homemade twin tail mod. Worthwhile mod. You may also notice that the original CF boom has been sleeved with a 5mm bore x 6mm od aluminium tube. I have also extended the boom length by about 30mm. The effects have been twofold, firstly no more fractured booms and more stability with the extra length.
Better view of the boom etc in scale. I use Walkera22E blades for better lift and more stable flight. (IMO). You will also see I have a Super Skids kit fitted.(I apologise for the surroundings, pics taken in my workshop)
Metal swashplate - for what its worth.
Now here's the prob. Whole lot is now seriously out of balance (since fitting the skids). You will see a heavy piece of steel tube taped to the skids to get it in balance. Believe it or not it flies not too badly even lugging this about - and its still the stock motor.
I could overcome this balance problem by modifying the connectors and using one of my TRex batteries!
With the big battery I could always fit a bigger canopy! It actually looks better than in this pic!
