Just recently aquired a DX6i and trying to setup one of my HDX500 Helis which I had been running on a DX6 for quite some time with no problems. I'm just not sure about how I had to set this radio up to make things work properly. I've printed out numerous posts on the setup, but I can never achieve the same results with everyone else's advice. Here's what I wound up with and the Heli flies just fine:
HDX500, AR6200 Rx, Futaba S9254, GY401, DX6i Tx......

Travel Adjust Setup Screen
Rudder 100% left and right ( yea it's quick, will reduce later)
Gyro 0% up and down
All others at 100%

Gyro Switch
Active, Rates are:
0= 30.0%
1= 70.0%

Gyro/Flap Switch = UP Position (= 0)

No Trim or Sub-Trim

Settings on Gyro itself: DS= ON, DIR=REV, DELAY=0

Here's the deal, when the Rx is armed the Gyro light is lit solid and the gyro is in head hold mode (steady as a rock) with the Gyro switch in the up position and the associated rates seem to be reversed? With 0=30.0% and 1= 70.0%
I understood for the Gyro to be in head hold the switch position Gyro rate should be 70.0% or higher? and the light on solid. In this case the Gyro/Flap switch is in the up position = 0 but the Gyro Rate associated with this position as you can see is set to 30.0%. If I flip the Gyro/Flap switch down to the 1 position, the light goes out and the gyro is in normal mode where the asscociated rate is equal to 70.0%. Is this confusing or what? Heli flies great !!!!!
