I've wanted to get into r/c flight for ages, and had a few ideas. What I would like to do is to take one of the helis here, and hook it in to the ardupilot system (Ardupilot auto pilot) and video like the FlyCam1 or maybe even aerial video system. There may be more going into it, autonomous flight as opposed to autopilot.

Before all this though (it will take time to buy all the bits, test, and program it all) I want a heli that is going to be both good for me to learn to fly, and will be able to carry the additional equipment for when I'm ready for it. I have my eye on the ESKY Lama and Dauphin models, but don't know how well they will do my second task. Everything bar the camera can go inside the craft, unless I do autonomous flight, then we're into DARPA territory Laughing

Anyhow, wait to hear your suggestions and questions. Great site by the way. Need more nitro helis. Twisted Evil

Hi and welcome to the forum, a lama will struggle to lift a flycam, then take it outdoors and fly it high up - the slightest gust of wind will blow it away.

How about an Interceptor 400 with alien command - should be everything you need - a stable heli that won't have any problems carrying a flycam, the flight stabilisation system should help you both in the beginner stages and also when you want to be able to concentrate on things such as filming while you're flying Smile

Looks good. I'll see if anyone else has other suggestions. What else will I need in addition to this kit? Servos, motor, transmitter? I'll have to look more in to the alien command thing, see what happens when I throw additional equipment at it, don't know anything about it yet.

Thanks so far,I look forward to hearing from other people's experiences.
