Hmmmmmm, how to mount it inside the canopy? I used some plastic mesh that I has stashed in the garage some time ago. You know, the kind you find in a roll at a hardware store. I usually use it to keep our mulch from washing away from our flower beds out in the yard. It easily allows air to move over the battery and provides protection from a crash. The squares are about 1/4" in size.
I simply rolled the battery up in a piece as wide as the battery and installed it in the nose. When I slid both parts of the battery holder forward and secured it with the rubber band, it held just fine. The CG was perfect without adding any wieght and took off to new heights. My main rotor has never turned that fast! I could only fly it at half-throttle inside my double garage or else it wanted to climb really fast toward the roof. Of course the new E-Flite 370 motor helped a lot too.
I FLEW FOR A WHOPPING 17 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES, I SAID 17 MINUTES!!!!
I think I'll keep the two stock batteries for warm-ups until they finally fail. No sense in tossing them out yet. They are still good for about five minutes or so.
Thanks for all the info. I'm really glad I signed on here!
Ya'll keep 'em flying and be safe!
