DJI has always been at the cutting edge of camera gimbal development. Zenmuse range supports small to medium size cameras for video and stills work. The smallest in the series is the H4-3D - a three axis gimbal for the incredibly popular GoPro Hero 4. You can only tilt the camera up and down but it is stabilised in three axes so it produces steady pans when yawing your aircraft.
At the other end of the scale is the gimbal for Canon’s 5D Mark III, the heaviest camera that the Zenmuse range carries. This is usually only carried by the DJI S1000+ octocopter.
In between are Zenmuse gimbals for the Panasonic GH4, The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and the Sony A7S. One of the most popular combinations is the 4K video GH4 with a DJI S900 hexacopter.
All of the gimbals besides the GoPro’s can be controlled in 3 axes and can be rotated a full 360 degrees. The stable images they’re capable of producing are breath-taking.
