Drones being used in search and rescue trial

Drones, supplied by Heliguy, are being used in a new trial to support vital search and rescue missions around the Essex coast. Opposition is mounting against a controversial proposal to charge UAV operators as part of the UK Drone Registration Scheme, with critics blasting the idea as outrageous and detrimental to the future of model flying. Heliguy has successfully demonstrated the effectiveness of a drone safety parachute for DJI’s Matrice Series – which dramatically slowed the aircraft’s fall from the sky during a simulated crash. Drone helps tackle spate of wildfires

Firefighters have used a drone to help fight a spate of wildfires in Lancashire – and have praised it for providing vital situational awareness and increasing the safety and speed of the operations. One of the wildfires tore through land in Bacup, north of Rochdale, after it erupted at just before 10pm on Saturday.
