The Inspire 2 is the latest in DJI’s inspire range of quadcopters aimed at professional users. This model supports three cameras from DJI, the Zenmuse X5S, X4S and X7. At Heliguy we were massive fans of the first Inspire. The DJI Inspire 2 is going to be a massive hit too. The range of camera options, improved flight time, new motors and added redundancy make this one of DJI’s most versatile products.
The DJI Inspire 2 drone has a number of key new features when looking at the quadcopter body.
- Magnesium aluminium composite shell helping to save weight.
- Familiar transforming design as seen on the Inspire 1.
- Carbon Fiber arms.
- New Vision Sensing technology.
- 58mph Max Speed.
- 15in Propellers.
- 27 minute flight time using the X4S Zenmuse Camera.
The Inspire 2 has a built-in imaging system.
This includes dedicated storage to help make processing the high-quality images and video footage you record a breeze.
CineCore 2.0 is included, along with the ability to record 4K video @ 60fps.
The newly designed Inspire 2 remote features:
- Signal frequency switching technology (DJI Lightbridge).
- A range of up to 4.3 miles or 7 kilometres.
- Support for Master / Slave modes.
- HDMI, USB and Extension ports.

Thanks to the new CineCore 2.0 image processing technology included with the Inspire 2, the quality of images and stills that this new quadcopter can produce is nothing short of sensational.
The CineCore system is capable of recording 5.2K videos in DNG1, ProRes2 and other formats.
The system is integrated within the nose of the Inspire 2 and works with both of DJI's new cameras, the X4S and X5S.
Both of these cameras also support high-resolution stills.
A new obstacle avoidance system on the Inspire 2 is another step forward from the technology found on the Phantom 4.
The DJI Inspire 2 can detect obstacles from up to 30 meters away at a speed of up to 34mph.
The peace of mind that this provides will be invaluable for pilots while using their quadcopter.
In addition, there are infrared sensors on top of the Inspire 2 and sensors underneath the body of the aircraft help with accurate hovering.
These new sensors make the Inspire 2 the most stable DJI aircraft to date.
The Spotlight Pro camera mode is an intelligent tracking mode.
It allows Inspire 2 pilots to capture "complex, dramatic images".
The sensors allow the Inspire 2 to follow a single subject extremely accurately, regardless of the flight path of the quadcopter.
Shots that previously required a dedicated second camera operator can now be captured by a single pilot.
The Inspire 2 has extra redundancy included.
This means that if one IMU or Compass were to fail in mid-flight, this new quadcopter would carry on flying, allowing the pilot to recover the aircraft safely.
The addition of a second battery also means that battery failure is no longer an issue.
If you of the batteries fails during flight, the second battery can take over and return the drone home.

I upgraded from the I1P to the I2 and I'm so glad I did. The increased endurance from around 15 minutes to almost 30 is ideal for my work. The drone is extremely stable in flight and along with the X5S it captures lovely images. I'm DJI through & through, so without being biased the only advice I could give to a potential buyer is that you won't regret it. Coupled with the customer service of Heliguy, you really can't go wrong.
Colena Inc DBA HeliguyThe inspire 2 and X7 Combo is a powerful tool for all photographers and film makers, offering a picture quality good enough for every level of film production.
Colena Inc DBA Heliguywe've been flying a number of drones for our aerial drone photography business in Manchester http://www.airpixa.co.uk the Inspire 2 is a massive leap in technology and safety and we love flying it
Colena Inc DBA HeliguyThe DJI Inspire 2 X5S has really changed our production value and the files from the X5S camera covers all our needs
Colena Inc DBA HeliguyGenerally very satisfied, both with the product and the support provided by Heliguy. I would have no hesitation in recommending both.
Colena Inc DBA HeliguyThe Inspire 2 and X5S were very good, but I had an accident (I tried to fly it low over a field, and hadn't realised that by doing this, it would enter landing mode and turned off collision avoidance and it brushed the ground and flipped over). While that was my fault, despite having taken out the DJI refresh care insurance, it was over a week after I logged a support request before DJI emailed me the address to send the drone for repair. And it has been two further weeks since the drone was delivered to their repair centre (in the Netherlands!) and I have heard nothing from them about the progress despite contacting them repeatedly.
Improvement suggestions: the remote should give a big warning when landing mode is activated, their repair request pages should support the UK (they don't, they say the UK isn't supported and suggest contacting them in other ways), and finally when I take out insurance from them which offers "rapid repair" I'd hope to get some feedback after 3 weeks.
Colena Inc DBA HeliguyHave only been able to fly it once for 15 mins due to constant bad weather and the only time I did fly it initially seemed amazing but just as I had it in spotlight mode the camera was tracking the person then the camera randomly started facing straight up and not moving any other direction........ want to have another few flights with it before contacting heliguy
Colena Inc DBA HeliguyMany thanks to you all for the help setting up the I2 and support. I thought you might like some early feedback. Had a "careful" second test flight with X5s and Olympus 12mm f/2 on the East Anglesey coast yesterday at 4.50pm (0.8mile, max distance =600ft, max height =200ft) in challenging conditions (dusk light, 20-25mph gusting SE and ground temp of 5'C). The drone handled impeccably, extremely stable with post flight 4k video review indicating complete gimbal stability throughout with very good low light detail. Managed to get 18min flight time , landing with 40% in both batteries. Very very impressed with this aircraft. I would expect a flight time easily in excess of 20mins in warmer less challenging conditions. Many thanks again for supplying the I2 kit.
