This thermography solution for commercial users combines the expertise of two industrial market leaders DJI and FLIR Systems enabling a range of sectors to benefit from a portable, easy to use thermal imaging device.

Currently available for both purchase and rental through Heliguy in the UK, you're guaranteed superior quality support with this exceptional product.

DJI Zenmuse XT Thermal Camera Details

The Zenmuse XT  combines the FLIR thermal camera technology and stabilisation from DJI's Zenmuse range. Both 336x256 and 640x512 resolutions are available to buy from Heliguy, however. We will also be stocking the following lens sizes: 9mm, 13mm and 19mm. Options outside of these recommended options will have a five week delivery time. Available in radiometric and non-radiometric variations.

The camera on the DJI Zenmuse XT is developed by FLIR. It provides high-sensitivity (50mK) infrared scanning at 640/30 fps or 336/60 fps depending on the camera model. This sensitivity provides accurate temperature measurements ideal for analytics and telemetry. Both cameras are available with four lens options to meet different business needs. Stabilised and controlled by a custom DJI gimbal, it provides smooth, clear imagery and 360 degrees of seamless rotational movement.

An Intuitive Thermography Solution

The Zenmuse XT can be controlled completely through the DJI GO app, providing a real-time, low latency view of what the camera sees, and instant access to core camera functions including:

    • Spot metering, temperature measurement at the mid-point (4 x 4 pixels)
    • Digital zoom
    • Single or interval shooting modes
    • Photo, video preview and download
    • Take photos while recording video
    • Palette also referred to as Lookup Table (LUT)
    • Scene, also referred to as Automatic Gain Correction (AGC)
    • Region of Interest (ROI)
    • Isotherm mode

Seamlessly Integrated with DJI Products

When used with either the Inspire 1, Matrice 100 or Matrice 600, the Zenmuse XT can be put into the air in seconds. It is seamlessly integrated, giving it complete access to key features including the powerful Lightbridge video transmission system (providing up to 3.1 miles of HD range), automated Point of Interest, Course and Home Lock, Follow Me, and the DJI SDK.

When combined with the Inspire 1, the Zenmuse XT works with incredible speed, efficiency and convenience. If used with the Matrice 100 or Matrice 600, the Zenmuse XT can stay in-flight for up to 35 minutes (dependant on conditions), ideal for large-scale inspections and especially useful in search and rescue scenarios.

Which Zenmuse XT is Right for Me?

The Standard XT system offers a lower cost solution ideal for emergency services. It's capable of recognising body heat in multiple environments and a centralised spot measures temperature on-screen. For industrial use, the XT Radiometric is able to disseminate hot and cold areas with more accuracy; tap the screen to see the temperature of that pixel. Alert thresholds can be set, activating when the desired temperature is detected.

- 336: Lower price, good performance in most applications -  6.8mm, 9mm, 13mm, 19mm Lenses
- 640: Higher price, more detail at long range & on smaller objects - 7.5mm, 9mm, 13mm and 19mm Lenses

- 9Hz: Good for most applications 
- 30Hz: Preferred in dynamic FPV flying, smoother framerates when flying actively

- Narrow FOV: When objects of interest are far away / harder to search for 13mm, 19mm 
- Wide FOV: When flying lower / more situational awareness is important 6.8/7.5mm, 9mm

Thermal Imaging: What Is Emissivity?

A core factor in thermography is the emissivity of the subject. Emissivity measures the target area’s efficiency of thermal energy emission when compared to a ‘perfect emitter’. A measurement that does not account for the real emissivity of a surface will appear “colder” than it actually is. This approach to thermographic measurement directly scales the intensity of the thermal emission with all real values displayed as less than 1.0. The closer the 1.0 you get, the more effective the target's emissivity and lack of reflectivity.

Emissivity is generally determined by the subject material’s composition and surface texture. The most highly emissive materials tend to be organic such as skin, wood, rocks and soil. At the other end of the spectrum, you will find shiny or polished materials which are more reflective and much less emissive. While an object’s emissivity is highly dependent on surface composition, it can also be affected by its roughness, oxidation, spectral wavelength, temperature, and sometimes even the viewing angle or atmospheric conditions such as mist.

Wow..... Just wow

Being from a military background I have considerable experience with thermal imaging equipment. The XT i recently received is an incredible piece of equipment and so far it has proven itself to be very sensitive, affords brilliant clarity and is very well made. The FLIR sensor is such a valuable piece of equipment to own as its added a whole new dimension to my business. I also would like to mention the customer services, communication and team at Heliguy.
