Ex-Demo Unit. In excellent condition, has been opened and shown in store. Box shows signs of wear but unit itself is free of damage.

The DJI Phantom 3 Professional is an incredible amount of technology in a small but perfectly formed package.

It’s a new generation of quadcopter which carries an extraordinarily steady camera capable of ultra high definition 4K video as well as standard 1080p HD.

What’s more you can monitor that high quality footage in vibrant and crisp 720p HD on your smartphone or tablet. It’s made possible by the DJI Lightbridge transmission system used by professional cinematographers and photographers.

With the Phantom 3 Professional the tablet attached to your remote controller can be used for so much more thanks to the DJI Pilot app. Apart from displaying your high resolution images, it is also used to access camera settings, record flights, help you to edit videos and even stream live pictures to YouTube.*

*Currently only available on the Phantom 3 Professional version, Phantom 3 Advanced compatibility coming soon.

The app shows you your Phantom 3’s position on Google maps and, at the end of a flight, it can replay it to you. It also generates a flight log so you can keep a record of what you’ve been doing.

Your remote controller and DJI Lightbridge have a much longer range than previous Phantoms. In theory  you can control your aircraft and view live HD pictures from it up to 1.2 miles (2km) away.*

* In the UK you will have to keep your Phantom 3 within sight at all times and definitely no further than 500 metres away.

The star of the show on the Phantom 3 is the camera. It packs years of experience in aerial imaging into one compact, easy to use system. With the Phantom 3 Professional, you’re shooting 4K video at up to 30 frames per second and capturing 12 megapixel photos that look crisper and cleaner than ever.

The Phantom 3 Professional’s camera has an f/2.8 lens with a 94? field of view, virtually eliminating the unwanted lens distortion common in other cameras not built to shoot from the air. In 35mm terms it’s the equivalent of a 20mm lens. Built from 9 separate elements, including two aspherical elements, that reduce weight and complexity without sacrificing image quality, this lens brings the brightest, truest colours to life.

When paired with DJI’s industry-standard gimbal stabilisation technology, your camera is held perfectly stable no matter how you fly. This 3-axis gimbal makes complex shots and hovering for long exposure photos easy. The camera and gimbal are fully controllable by the included remote controller and dedicated DJI Pilot app.

Even when it’s flying indoors or in areas where’s there’s poor satellite reception, the Phantom 3 can hold its position thanks to new Vision Positioning which uses downward facing optical and ultrasonic sensors originally developed for its bigger brother, the Inspire 1. It grabs a visual lock on the surface it’s hovering over and holds the Phantom 3 steady.

Controlling both your Phantom 3’s flight path and the camera feels simple and natural. The advanced remote has been built from the ground up specifically for aerial photography. Dedicated buttons let you take photos and video, tilt the camera, direct where your Phantom 3 flies, and bring it back to you at the press of a button. Even take-off and landing can happen automatically with a tap of the screen or a button push.

Change your flight mode and set additional commands through the DJI Pilot app. Customize what each of the sticks does, and personalize the two buttons on the back of the remote to activate your favourite functions.

Quickly create videos and share them instantly. DJI’s new Director software, a built-in video editor, allows you to choose the best moments from your flights and build a complete video with music, text, and more.

Pre-designed templates are built into Director, enabling you to quickly create a video that suits your style. With just a few taps of the screen, you can have a professional-quality movie of your flight, ready to be shared.

But what about this for a breakthrough. As you are flying, you can share the bird’s eye view with your friends and the world, live over YouTube via your smartphone or tablet’s internet connection. Now anyone can experience the joy of flight, and watch, comment and share your experience in near real time.

If you want to get some practice before your first flight or if the weather’s bad, you can put some training in without going anywhere. The DJI Pilot app includes a flight simulator that gives you the lifelike experience of flying your Phantom 3 using your own remote controller. That’s great for building your confidence if you’re an inexperienced pilot and just as valuable for more seasoned fliers who want to hone their skills or try out a tricky manoeuvre.
(Simulator function only available in the iOS version of the DJI Pilot app.)

When you are just starting out the Phantom 3 offers a unique Beginner’s Mode. Which helps you learn how to fly in a safe, limited area. Your aircraft can be set to fly only within a given distance and altitude from you, protecting your Phantom and making it automatically stay inside your comfort zone. This invisible, GPS-enabled “geofence” prevents you from accidentally flying into unwanted areas or obstacles, and helps you enjoy flying while learning at the same time.

Your Phantom 3 literally helps you fly. It processes information from every sensor and completes complex calculations in real time, giving you a worry-free flight experience that follows your commands instantly, orders your Phantom 3 to stop and hover in place when you release the control sticks, allows customized control settings to fit your preferences, and enables your Phantom 3 to return to you whenever needed.

Bringing your Phantom 3 back to you is as simple as pressing a button on the remote or within the Pilot app. Your system automatically remembers* the point at which it took off, and returns and lands safely at this point when you command it to Return to Home.

*When signals are received from sufficient satellites.

Processing and analysing flight data in real time takes serious power. The Main Controller is the brain of your Phantom 3. It collects data from the entire system, including motor speed, GPS location, your command inputs, and data from automatic sensors, and analyses it all to tell your Phantom 3 exactly how to behave at any given moment.

Never lose track of your Phantom 3. GPS and GLONASS satellite constellations combine to make the Phantom 3 completely aware of its location and relation to you. It hovers more precisely, moves more accurately, and locks onto satellites faster. With the new availability of GLONASS, a minimum of 36 satellites are available to you around the world at any time.

Through the DJI Pilot app, you can track its location on a live map, and record your take-off point so you can bring it back to you with the tap of a finger.

Bright LEDs on the front and back of your Phantom 3 tell you its status and the direction it’s facing, helping you fly safely and with confidence.

Keeping your Phantom 3 stable and flying the way you want it to is the Inertial Measurement Unit. Inside is a 6-axis gyroscope and an accelerometer that records and relays even the smallest changes in tilt and movement. It is constantly at work, detecting the slightest changes and compensating for them automatically.

Motor speed is critical to flight, and each motor is managed individually by the Electronic Speed Controllers. ESCs not only relay vital motor speed information to the Main Controller, they also send commands back to the motors based on your input. This constant communication keeps your Phantom stable in flight, and also helps you achieve any flight movement, from gentle pans to rapid acceleration.

All of this amazing setup is powered by an intelligent battery. Higher voltage, more energy, and greater power combine to give you a vastly improved flight experience. The upgraded Intelligent Flight Battery has built-in sensors and bright LEDs that let you know the status of your battery in real time. Your Phantom 3 continuously calculates its current distance from you and the amount of power needed to return, so you always know how long you can continue flying and when it’s time to bring it back home for a battery change or a recharge.

I would like to congratulate the team on some exceptional service that I recently had. I got in touch with Kevin in Repairs recently as I only a few days before heading to Croatia when my Mavic Camera Gimbal decided to have a malfunction. He took upon himself to do everything in his power to ensure it was couriered to you from Surrey and returned in time for my departure. I can't tell you how delighted I was to see it arrive prior to leaving as my continued work with a work provider depended on me Droning this particular Cycle cruise.
