Heliguy’s FPV system for the DJI Inspire 1 is a great safety feature and it’s something you’ll wonder how you ever managed without, especially if you’re going to be operating with a dual controller. All of the cameras (X3, X5 and X5R) on the Inspire 1 can be rotated through 360 degrees to capture the shot you want but that leaves the pilot exposed.

Just being able to see the Inspire isn’t enough if you want to be sure of its orientation and what it’s flying towards. Imagine flying an Inspire forwards while the camera is panning to follow an object. The camera operator will be totally happy with the view but the pilot won’t be able to see where he or she is going. This is where our FPV camera comes in. We supply a spare nosecone with a camera fitted and wiring, battery and transmitter that are totally independent of the Inspire’s original equipment. That means your warranty isn’t invalidated and the equipment can be removed and the original nosecone replaced whenever needed. A choice of monitors is included so you can mount it on your controller or on a tripod. For a little extra we can supply a battery charger and fit everything for you.

Thanks for your help. I think I will design one. I did see one that wraps around the base of the handle and has the tripod screw thread offset to the side. I think I can do better, a hinged bottom plate, with a tripod screw hole in the center and a clasp that inserts into the handle release slot.
