Lightweight Gimbal Supports Heavier Cameras
The DJI RS 2 has carbon fibre in vital structural components, reducing the weight down to 1.3 kg (2.86 lbs), while remaining durable.
The DJI RS 2 now supports a tested dynamic payload of 4.5 kg (10 lbs), allowing creatives to use heavier camera and lens combinations - while still achieving 12 hours of battery life.
A new quick-charge function directly to the battery handle is great for urgent situations, providing an extra two hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charge.
DJI has introduced a newly-optimised Titan Stabilisation Algorithm, which reduces manual user input while compensating for user movement and optimising the gimbal tilt and angle.
The new SuperSmooth mode adds another level of camera stability, especially for compensating longer focal length lenses of up to 100mm.
Axis locks enable easier transportation and balancing, while a dual-layer camera mounting plate is compatible with the Arca-Swiss and Manfrotto standard.
A fine-tune balancing knob allows for greater precision balancing of the camera payload.
The built-in front dial above the trigger enables precise control and complements a DJI Focus Wheel mounted on the RSA port to create two-channel focus and zoom (compatibility varies by camera model).
Bright Touchscreen And Added Versatility
The RS 2 features a built-in 1.4" colour touchscreen, supporting 11 different languages.
This can display the camera data, gimbal settings, or a live feed from the camera.
The ultra-bright screen can also initiate key functions such as ActiveTrack and a suite of intelligent shooting modes.
The RS 2 is also a versatile tool - allowing content creators to push their imagination to the limits.
The gimbal can be used with jibs, car attachments, and sliders.
The two RSA ports can be used as NATO ports, enabling the mounting of accessories and attachments, such as grips and a remote controller.

Make Stories Come To Life
The RS 2 expands on its predecessor's range of creative modes and features.
The highlights include:
- New Time Tunnel: Perform a 360-degree roll while capturing hyperlapse. This adds a new dimension to your footage.
- Flashlight: The camera can be tilted all the way forward so users can grip the base like a flashlight.
- One-Tap Portrait Mode: Quickly orientate the gimbal into vertical shooting for professional-level social-media content.
- Panorama: Configure sensor and focal length, and then select a start and stop point for panoramas up to a gigapixel size.
- Roll 360: The gimbal adopts the Flashlight position and rolls the camera system 360 degrees.
- Timelapse: Capture subtle changes over lengths of time of your choosing. Timelapse is a classic feature!
Accessories Expand Creative Capabilities
The RS 2 can be customised with a range of accessories to help capture the best shot possible.
These accessories include:
- Cheese plate
- Focus Wheel
- 3D Focus System (coming at a later date after launch)
- Twist Grip Dual Handle
- RavenEye Image Transmission System
- Tethered Control Handle
When the RavenEye Image Transmission System is connected, users can utilise ActiveTrack 3.0. This sends a 1080p/30fps low-latency feed to a mobile device using the Ronin app from up to 100 metres away.
The Ronin app also enables vital features and functions to be controlled over long distances. This includes gimbal movement, using the virtual joystick and Force Mobile, so gimbal mimics the mobile device's movement.

SuperSmooth requires a lens support and lens-fastening strap to stabilise lenses of up to 100mm equivalent focal length and capture even more stabilised footage than normal stabilisation. Motor torque settings as well as various other settings are changed behind the scenes to enable this mode to function properly.
The DJI RS 2 can be used up to 12 hours when the battery is fully charged and the gimbal is balanced well.
When using a 24W charger, DJI RS 2 can be fully charged in 1.5 hours. A 15-minute charge can enable two hours of use.
It is recommended to use chargers that comply with PD or QC 2.0 fast charging protocol with a charging power of 24W to charge the battery of DJI RS 2.
The Ronin app supports Ronin 2, Ronin-S, Ronin-SC, DJI RSC 2, and DJI RS 2.

However, not all Arca and Manfrotto quick-release plates can be used on DJI RS 2.
We suggest using phones of 65-90mm in width. If the phone is narrower than the minimum width, attach a phone case and try again.
The DJI R phone holder is compatible with DJI RS 2. Only the clamp is compatible with Ronin-S & Ronin-SC, whereas the base mount is not compatible with these two models.
Only the clamp is compatible with DJI RS 2, whereas the base mount is not compatible.
Attach the DJI R Focus Wheel, and connect two DJI Ronin Focus Motors to the Focus Motor Port (USB-C) and Image Transmission/Focus Motor Port (USB-C), respectively, to set up a two-channel, dual-focus system.
Use the DJI Ronin Expansion Base Kit to connect DJI RS 2 with joints of a car mount, slider, jib, or other supported mounting platforms.
When using dual focus, a focus motor takes up the Image Transmission/Focus Motor Port (USB-C), so the Image Transmission System cannot connect to the gimbal via cable for charging. However, the RavenEye Image Transmission System has a built-in battery and can work with the gimbal without a cable connection. Therefore, it can be used with dual focus at the same time.
The third-party motor should be compatible with the 12mm Focus Motor Rod to work with the Ronin Focus Motor.
Connect the RavenEye Image Transmission system to the camera via HDMI cable to use it remotely from the gimbal.
RavenEye internal battery lasts approximately 3.5 hours.
It takes approximately 2.5 hours to charge the RavenEye internal battery fully.
