Pesticide Type

Common pesticides

Supports special aviation chemicals, high utilisation rate, can save more than 20% of pesticides.

Control Effect

It is easy to leak or re-spray, and low pesticide penetration.
Due to the low efficiency of work, it is difficult to carry out large-area protection in a short period of time, which is not suitable for unified control.
The pesticide is sprayed uniformly and has good penetration due to the downwards wind stream from the aircraft.
Can carry out large-area operations in a short period of time.

Safety

Workers are very close to pesticides, which is a serious health hazard.

The worker is separated from the pesticide and does not need to access hard-to-reach areas.

Smart Agriculture With DJI Agras

Since their introduction in 2015, DJI Agras drones have helped change the face of agriculture, especially for crop spraying missions.

Early models such as the Agras MG-1 and Agras MG-1S have been followed by even smarter aircraft, such as the Agras MG-1P and Agras T16, and more recently, the Agras T30 and T10.

DJI Agras drones are deployed around the world, with more than 40,000 active aircraft currently on the market.

Thanks to their large spray-tank capabilities, precise spraying nozzles, enhanced flight redundancies, and a transmission distance covering multiple kilometres, the DJI Agras series offers a comprehensive agricultural management solution.

Operators of the DJI Agras T16 and Agras MG-1P series can also swarm these drones for enhanced efficiency and surface-area coverage. Up to five T16 aircraft can be controlled by a single T16 remote controller simultaneously, while a single MG-1P controller can control up to five MG-1P aircraft at the same time, greatly increasing what a single-pilot can achieve.

DJI Solutions

Smart Agriculture Made Easy

The DJI Agras drones can be utilised as one part of a smart agriculture solution.

Thanks to DJI's comprehensive agriculture package, the Agras drones can be used in conjunction with the DJI Phantom 4 RTK mapping drone, or the DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral crop monitoring drone. DJI Terra - a drone mapping software package - can also be utilised in this DJI farming ecosystem to produce agricultural maps from the collected drone data and generate targeted flight paths.

The information below shows how multiple DJI platforms can be brought together to provide an end-to-end precision agriculture package.

3D Flight Path Planning

Navigating challenging terrain is now easier, thanks to digitised farming methods.

The DJI Phantom 4 RTK can scan and map target areas to identify all aspects of a field and DJI Terra can process this data to create maps and reconstructions for a range of agricultural insights. This information can then be used to deploy the DJI Agras T16 to specific areas.

In Orchard mode, DJI Agras drones can identify each tree, generate 3D flight routes based on their shapes, and conduct efficient spraying.

Transforming Vineyard Management

DJI Agras drones have transformed vineyard management.

The unprecedented topography friendly drones and the automated operation have made vineyard spraying an easy and visible workflow.

Remote Vision is one company deploying DJI Agras drones for vineyard management, flying the MG-1P and T16 in Switzerland.

Tasked with preventing disease, the Agras drones are filled with a range of chemicals to protect the vines from the spread of powdery mildew and other fungal diseases.

The Agras drones can spray 100 litres per hectare and are able to target steep hills which are difficult to access by using a tractor.

"The client has compared drone spraying with earlier tractor spraying. The client is happy with drone spraying for a number of reasons, including no personal contact with pesticides, there is no phytotoxicity, and the DJI Agras is much more efficient over steep terrain."

Protecting Vital Crops

The DJI MG-1P RTK plant protection drones have become a fast, accurate, and reliable option for weed control.

By implementing them during weeding, farmers can ensure they are covering a larger area in a shorter time.

Zhucheng Denong Trading Co Ltd has been deploying DJI Agras drones since 2016, and has used theMG-1P RTK to spray Arylex across 400mu wheat fields.

The drone was flown 1.5 metres off the ground and was able to cover four metres per second, resulting in a fast and incredibly targeted means of spraying.

The company says that this drone provides an efficient and precise method of spraying. Using the drone to spray Arylex, the positive results were apparent on the seventh day, with no harm to the wheat.

DJI Agras And Disease Control

Versatile and reliable heavy-duty drones.

While the DJI Agras series was engineered for agriculture, these versatile and reliable drones have also proved useful in missions outside of farming.

DJI Agras And The Coronavirus

Following the coronavirus outbreak, the DJI Agras drones were adapted to spray disinfectant in potentially affected areas throughout China.

Drones were useful in this situation as they could cover ground far quicker than traditional methods, and reduced the risk to workers by not exposing them to the virus and the disinfectant.

The DJI Agras drones were filled with disinfectant and sprayed more than 3 million square metres in Shenzhen.

As part of the fight against the coronavirus, DJI worked with other areas in China to adopt the spraying method, targeting key areas such as factories, hospitals, and residential areas.

Thanks to DJI Agras drones, spraying efficiency was increased 50 times faster than traditional methods.

DJI Agras Used To Stop Malaria Spread

The Agras MG-1S drone was used as part of a trial to spread an environmentally-safe biological control agent on some of Zanzibar's large-scale irrigated rice paddies, to try to fight malaria.

Spraying is an effective solution to try to combat the deadly disease, but traditional methods have their limitations: Planes and helicopters are too expensive, while hand-spraying is too time-consuming.

Drones, such as the DJI Agras, provide the ideal alternative: They can be filled with solution, are a low cost, reliable, and precise option, and can cover large areas quickly.

Four weeks after the Agras drones were used, the number of mosquitoes in the areas targeted remained close to zero.
