DJI drone firmware updates - January 2026: What's new
DJI has released a series of firmware updates during January 2026, bringing new features and capabilities to drones such as the DJI Matrice 400 and DJI Mavic 4 Pro.
DJI has released numerous firmware updates during January 2026, including for the DJI Matrice 400, DJI Mavic 4 Pro, and DJI FlightHub 2.
Key upgrades for the DJI M400 include dirt detection for LiDAR and optimised positioning capability.
Mavic 4 Pro's updates include optimising the flight control experience and low battery RTH strategy.
The most recent FlightHub 2 update introduces new packages and updates to API functionality. It follows an update at the start of the month - find out more here.
DJI FlightHub 2 update: 27th January, 2026
The most recent firmware update for DJI FlightHub 2 (Public Version) went live on January 27, 2026.
The highlight is the introduction of the Business version, removal of the Professional licences, and adjustments to the Standard (free) version.

Launch of the New Business Version
The new Business version offers a wider range of advanced features. Beta features currently in trial will also be officially supported.
Discontinuation of Professional Versions (1-Month / 12-Month / 3-Year)
The current Professional version has been removed. Versions that have already been purchased or activated will remain available and will be upgraded to the business version at no cost.
Adjustment to Mapping Image Packages
The previous 20,000-image package has been removed. Already purchased or activated image packages can still be used normally. The new mapping image recharge packages consist of bolt-ons of either 30,000 or 300,000 images for a year.
Changes to Standard Version (Free) Features
Relaxed Restrictions: The standard version will no longer limit the number of projects or the number of models loaded to the map in each project.
Retention of Existing Data: All accounts already added to organisations, custom project roles and permissions, and analyzers created before these changes take effect will remain and will not be deleted.
New Restrictions on the Standard Version: The maximum number of user accounts per organisation will be set to 5.
The following features will not be supported:
Custom project roles and permissions.
Exporting flight records locally.
Viewing organisation data dashboard.
Creating analyzers.
Sharing project data within the organisation.
Linking analyzers in automated workflows, and automated assignment workflow.
Virtual cockpit will support official algorithms for people, vehicle, vessel, and large-object detection, but third-party algorithm-based detection will not be supported.
AI waypoint and patrol routes will support official people, vehicle, and vessel detection, but not third-party algorithms.
Smart search will be limited to 4 uses per organisation per month. Change detection will be limited to 4 uses per organisation per month.
What's new?
The firmware update has also brought some new features, such as:
FlightHub Mapping API: Added FlightHub Mapping API in OpenAPI, supporting third-party fast integration of cloud mapping capabilities.
FlightHub Sync Optimisation: Added support for EventAPI, which allows you to configure different event rules to push specific event information from FlightHub to external systems. Also added support for deleting files within FlightHub after synchronisation is completed.
Updates: Added support for searching all device serial numbers and device names on the team page and in the Device List in Task Plan Library; Added virtual cockpit entry to Device List on team page; FlightHub public cloud now allows docks to import offline unlocking licenses to lift flight restrictions.
DJI M400 firmware update: v16.01.08.06
The DJI M400 firmware update v16.01.08.06 went live on January 19, 2026.
So, what's new?
Added support for dirt detection for the LiDAR, allowing for timely cleaning and maintenance to ensure the LiDAR performance.
Optimised the positioning capability in all scenarios, improving the positioning accuracy and stability in complex environment.
Fixed the battery known issue to enhance flight safety.
