DJI Matrice 4/4D Series Firmware Update: August 28, 2025

DJI Matrice 4/4D Series Firmware Update: August 28, 2025

Firmware update adds LiDAR Obstacle Sensing Module support to the DJI Matrice 4 Series and introduces Manifold 3 compatibility with the Matrice 4 and 4D Series.

Firmware updates have been released for the DJI Matrice 4 Series and DJI Matrice 4D Series/DJI Dock 3.

Highlights include added compatibility for the DJI Matrice 4E and DJI Matrice 4T to support the DJI Matrice 4 Obstacle Sensing Module (already compatible with the DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD), which helps improve flight safety in complex environments, including low-light conditions and during missions such as substation inspection.

The update also enables the DJI Matrice 4 Series and DJI Matrice 4D Series to support the Manifold 3, which provides enhanced computing power for flight, gimbal, and camera control, optimising efficiency in various operations.

The updates were both released on August 28, 2025. We'll break these up to show the updates for the DJI Matrice 4 Series, then the Matrice 4D Series/DJI Dock 3.

DJI Matrice 4 Series Firmware Update

The August 28 update brings a swathe of new features for the DJI Matrice 4 Series. These are:

  • Added support for DJI Matrice 4 Obstacle Sensing Module.

  • Added support for Manifold 3. When integrated with the DJI Matrice 4E, Manifold 3 enables Smart 3D Explore - enabling real-time spatial mapping and flight route planning in unknown environments. During operation, Manifold 3 generates a rough model in real time and transmits it to the remote controller. Users can then quickly create precise mapping routes that conform to the object's geometry.

  • Added support for Patrol Route to use third-party visual recognition algorithms, making smart tasks more comprehensive and flexible.

  • Optimised AR street landmark classification, allowing more detailed customisation of display content.

  • Optimised image quality in infrared inspection mode, allowing adjustment of image grayscale and high-temperature contrast ratio.

  • Added support to use third-party infrared algorithms for recognition.

  • Added support to save infrared images in DLT-664 standard format.

  • Added support for calculating spatial area in spatial annotation.

  • Added support for RTSP livestream to push streams that meet MISB standards.

  • PSDK opens the laser ranging interface.

  • Optimised the airborne relay interaction experience

Firmware Versions

Ensure all firmware - especially the aircraft, remote controller, and DJI Pilot 2 - is updated to the latest versions, as listed below:

  • Aircraft Firmware: v14.03.00.09

  • Remote Controller Firmware: v01.64.06.03

  • AS1 Firmware: v01.00.01.11

  • AL1 Firmware: v01.00.29.85

  • D-RTK 3 Firmware: v14.03.00.06

  • DJI Pilot 2 App: v14.3.0.34

  • DJI Assistant 2: v2.1.20

Please note that once the firmware is updated, the remote controller cannot revert to firmware version v01.61.04.05 or earlier.

DJI Dock 3/Matrice 4D Series Firmware Update

DJI Dock 3 and the Matrice 4D Series drones benefit from updated functionality following the August 28 update.

New features include:

  • Added support for Manifold 3.

  • Added support to save infrared images in DLT-664 standard format

The DJI Matrice 4D Series already supported the obstacle sensing module. However, following the update:

  • When the vision system is working normally, the aircraft can bypass obstacles during flight route tasks and RTH process.

  • When the vision system is not working, the aircraft cannot bypass obstacles during flight route tasks and will perform original route RTH by default.

Used with DJI FlightHub 2

  • Added support for distributing linear route to the dock aircraft after splitting or merging the mapping area.

  • Added support for using third-party algorithms for visible light and infrared intelligent recognition in waypoint route and patrol route.

  • Added support to customise the reserved battery level for RTH. In strong wind conditions, it is recommended to increase the reserved battery level for RTH to ensure flight safety.

Used with DJI Pilot 2

  • Added Patrol Route support for the infrared thermal camera of DJI Matrice 4TD.

  • Added support for waypoint route and patrol route to use third-party algorithms for visible light and infrared intelligent recognition.

  • Added support for takeover mode settings on the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version. When the relay station is connected to the dock and the aircraft is idle, nearby Matrice 4 Series or Matrice 4D Series (DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise) aircraft can take control and connect to the relay station.

  • Added support for RTSP livestream to push streams that meet MISB standards.

Firmware Versions

Ensure all firmware is updated to the latest versions, as listed below. It is especially important to update the firmware version for the aircraft, the remote controller, and the dock, otherwise, they will not be compatible with each other.

  • Dock Firmware: v 14.03.00.03

  • Aircraft Firmware: v 14.03.00.03

  • Charging Hub Firmware: v 00.03.00.12

  • Remote Controller Firmware: v 01.64.06.03

  • AS1 Firmware: v 01.00.01.11

  • AL1 Firmware: v 01.00.29.85

  • Obstacle Sensing Module Firmware: v 01.00.00.44

  • D-RTK 3 Firmware: v 14.03.00.06

  • DJI Pilot 2 App: v 14.3.0.34

  • DJI Enterprise App: v 2.4.0

  • DJI Assistant 2 (Enterprise Series): v 2.1.20
