DroneControl new feature: Pre-Flight Report
The new Pre-Flight Report feature in DroneControl is designed to elevate operational readiness and compliance.
DroneControl has released the Pre-Flight Report feature - designed to help drone teams simplify their compliance, improve safety, and capture key data in one seamless flow.
What is it?
The Pre-Flight Report is a smart checklist interface built directly into the DroneControl Ground Control Station. It prompts pilots to input essential operational data before takeoff, ensuring critical flight information is captured and logged with every mission.
This includes:
Pilot and aircraft identification.
Location and purpose of the mission.
Visual hardware inspection checklist.
Risk assessments and operational conditions.
Any other data required by aviation authorities or internal SOPs.
Why does it matter?
Most civil aviation authorities – including the UK CAA – now expect drone operators to keep detailed records of every mission, from preparation to post-flight review.
Pre-Flight Report helps teams meet these requirements effortlessly, directly syncing all inputs with:
Your cloud-based flight logs
Your hardware inspection records in the Fleet Management System
Your compliance archive in the DroneControl Portal
Streamlined from the field to the cloud
Entering data takes just seconds, with an intuitive UI designed for rapid use on tablets, laptops, or RCs.
Once submitted, the Pre-Flight Report is instantly attached to the flight log, closing the compliance loop from pre-flight to mission end.
Benefits
Benefits of the Pre-Flight Report feature include:
Save time on manual reporting
Eliminate paperwork errors
Maintain auditable flight histories
Support CAA, EASA, FAA, and local regulatory expectations
The feature is now available to all DroneControl users with Ground Control Station access. Download the latest version by clicking 'update now' in the app – log in, and click 'Pre-Flight Report' before take-off.
DroneControl is available as a standalone remote flight control app, or as a whole ecosystem that includes the app as well as pilot, fleet, and team management.
