DJI has updated the firmware for the Phantom 4 RTK to improve flight safety and experience - and users are being encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible.
What’s New?
Improved battery stability and safety after the battery was not fully charged and discharged during long-term storage.

Firmware update 'may take a long time'
- DJI has said that this firmware update may take a long time. Please wait and DO NOT power off the aircraft during updating.
- Make sure that the firmware for both the aircraft and remote controller is up-to-date. Otherwise they will not work together.
- It is not recommended to use this firmware with a PC GS Pro of v1.2.0 or lower. Otherwise some functions may not work properly.
- To ensure you have a positive flying experience, maintain your batteries regularly to extend battery life and ensure flight safety.
- Discharge the battery to 50-90% (2-3 grids of indicator lights) if it has not been used for seven days or more. Before using the discharged battery, charge the battery fully to ensure flight safety. It is easiest to use the Phantom 4 Charging Hub. When using the Charging Hub, discharge the battery for at least two hours in Storage Mode and then charge the battery in Charging Mode to 100%.
- The battery should be preheated in an air-conditioned car before being used in a cold environment.
