In D-Log M and HLG colour modes, the maximum ISO is raised to 3200, allowing for greater brightness and more details in urban night scenes.

2: Med-Tele Mode
Mini 5 Pro brings with it 48mm Med-Tele Mode - enabling subjects to stand out more prominently in the frame.
With 2x zoom, this new mode offers higher image resolution than the digital zoom on previous DJI Mini Pro Series.
On top of this, Mini 5 Pro features DJI's portrait optimisation tech - supported in normal mode, not HLG or D-Log M modes - to make portraits look naturally radiant and more vivid. The 48mm Med-Tele mode further highlights subjects with true-to-life vibrance.
3: Rotating Gimbal and vertical shooting
Benefit from Mini 5 Pro's wide-angle roll rotation and true vertical shooting - for greater creative flexibility and assets that are perfect for social-media sharing.
225° Gimbal Rotation for Dynamic Camera Movement: 225 roll rotation enables flexible and dynamic camera movement. When paired with intelligent shooting modes - more on this later - content creators can access eye-catching rotating footage for more cinematic movement and unique perspectives.
True Vertical Shooting: Create vertical videos and photos and share with no cropping needed. Activate this mode to unlock social-media-ready content.
4: Intelligent shooting modes
DJI Mini 5 Pro is packed with intelligent shooting modes to help streamline - and automate - dazzling content creation.
MasterShots: Provides high-level camera movement templates according to portrait, close-up, and long-distance shooting needs.
QuickShots: Supports various modes such as QuickShot Rotate, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang, and Asteroid, allowing you to easily shoot stylish short films.
Free Panorama: Supports Free Panorama, letting you create seamless panoramic shots by stitching together multiple images with a manually selected subject or area.
Off-state QuickTransfer: Mini 5 Pro supports remote wake-up via the DJI Fly app within Bluetooth range. Without taking out the drone or remote controller [9], files can be transferred at up to 100 MB/s [10] via Wi-Fi 6. Even when switching to other apps, the DJI Fly app continues downloading in the background.
5: Upgraded safety features, including forward-facing LiDAR
By virtue of its tiny frame, Mini 5 Pro is in the safest drone category.
However, that hasn't stopped DJI from ploughing plenty of safety features into the drone, including nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing and safe takeoff and return without requiring a satellite signal.

Let's dig into these mechanisms for worry-free flight.
Full 360 obstacle detection
Mini 5 Pro is equipped with a forward-facing LiDAR sensor alongside fisheye cameras on both the front and rear, giving it awareness in all directions — forward, backward, sideways, and upward.
On the underside, dual binocular sensors and a 3D infrared sensor complete the system, enabling full 360° obstacle detection.
Confident Flying at Night
With its nightscape obstacle sensing, the drone delivers reliable protection even in low-light conditions, giving creators the confidence to capture nighttime shots safely and smoothly.
Smart Return-to-Home at night
When flying after dark, the forward-facing LiDAR helps the Mini 5 Pro detect hazards such as tall buildings and automatically adjust its altitude, ensuring a safer return-to-home during night flights.
Reliable returns without GNSS
When flying after dark, the forward-facing LiDAR helps the Mini 5 Pro detect hazards such as tall buildings and automatically adjust its altitude, ensuring a safer return-to-home during night flights.
Dual-band satellite precision
With L1 + L5 dual-band GNSS support, the drone can lock onto more satellites simultaneously, boosting connection strength, reducing interference, and ensuring highly accurate positioning.

6: Upgraded ActiveTrack 360° for enhanced tracking capabilities
Mini 5 Pro is bolstered by upgraded ActiveTrack 360°, offering customisable tracking and enhanced performance balancing speed, agility, and safety.
This video shows ActiveTrack 360° locking onto Elephant Rock - near South Shields - in conjunction with an orbit flight.
In open areas, maximum tracking speed has been increased to 15m/s, while in complex environments, the drone can switch to rear tracking mode to steadily keep the subject in focus.
When it comes to sport, Mini 5 Pro automatically selects Cycling or Standard mode for optimal framing and tracking.
In Standard mode, the drone maintains a steady altitude and distance as it follows its subject's path in real time, while in Cycling mode, it reacts to turns and speed changes.
7: Powerful Flight performance
Tiny drone. Big performance!
Mini 5 Pro packs plenty of output into its small frame.
The drone can be fired up and shut down by unfolding or folding its right rear arm, and it features quick-release propellers.
Once it's in flight, Mini 5 Pro offers up to 36 minutes of flight time. The drone is compatible with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus - yielding longer endurance - but this is not available in Europe and the UK.
For operational continuity, three intelligent flight batteries can be fully charged in 115 minutes, when using the Two-way Charging Hub and DJI 65W Portable Charger.
During flight, Mini 5 Pro is an agile performer, with an increased maximum ascent speed of 10 m/s, a horizontal speed of up to 18m/s, and a 15m/s tracking speed.
The pitch of the drone's propellers make the aircraft quiet during flight.
While the drone doesn't come with an IP rating, it can handle wind speeds of 12 m/s, and temperatures of -10°C to 40°C.
8: Lightweight, portable, regulation-friendly
Mini by name, mini by nature.

DJI Mini 5 Pro is listed as weighing 249.9g, while its dimensions are:
Folded (without propellers): 157 x 95 x 68 mm.
Unfolded (with propellers): 255 x 181 x 91 mm.
Needless to say, it makes the drone easy to carry and ultra-portable.
And crucially, the fact that it tips the scales at just shy of 250g ensures it is regulation-friendly. Indeed, in Europe, it has received a Class 0 rating - for drones with a weight of less than 250g.
In the UK, operators can fly the Mini 5 Pro in the A1 sub-category of the Open Category. This enables you to overfly uninvolved people, but not crowds - without requiring official drone training like the A2 CofC.
However, in the interests of safety and pilot competency, we always recommend pilots to undergo a course like the A2 CofC.
When it comes to drone registration, Mini 5 Pro users do not currently require a Flyer ID, but do need an Operator ID.
9: Latest transmission system for stable performance
DJI Mini 5 Pro supports DJI O4+ 10-bit video transmission, with a 10km range (CE).
Utilising DJI's latest transmission algorithm ensures stronger anti-interference and more stable and reliable live feeds.
On this note, operators can benefit from a live view quality of up to 1080p/60fps, plus a maximum download speed of 10MB/s with either the DJI RC-N3 or DJI RC 2 controllers (we'll cover these in more detail next), or up to 100 MB/s with WiFi 6.
10: Accessories
DJI Mini 5 Pro brings with it an accessory ecosystem.
When it comes to controllers, DJI Mini 5 Pro comes with either the DJI RC-N3 or the DJI RC 2 (pictured below).

And a firmware update - following the release of the Mini 5 Pro - has added compatibility with the DJI RC Pro 2 smart controller, available separately.
The RC-N3 is designed to hold a separate mobile device, allowing you to view HD camera feeds in real-time via the DJI Fly app on your mobile device.
In contrast, the DJI RC 2 is a next-gen smart controller with a built-in 5.5-inch, 700-nit high-bright screen, and DJI Fly App built in.
