Whitby Lighthouse 3DGS captured with DJI Matrice 4E and DJI Terra

DJI Matrice 4E + DJI Terra = this Gaussian Splat of Whitby Lighthouse.

It shows how drones such as the DJI Matrice 4E, alongside DJI Terra, can create 3DGS for detailed scene reconstruction and visualisation.

We were particularly impressed with the level of detail on the light inside the tower at the 21-second mark of this flythrough video - created with NUBIGON Inc.

The data was captured through an oblique flight and manual photogrammetry.

And the images below show how 3DGS creates a more robust model compared to the 3D mesh - such as coping better with glass, and recreating the weathervane in greater detail.
