How many versions of the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced are there?
There are two versions of the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced.
DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced (Universal Edition): Normal battery and propellers, not C1 or C2 class-marked.
DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 version: C1 version of battery + low-noise propellers. Sub 900g and is C1 class-marked.
The key differences are outlined below:
DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced | DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 | |

Max take-off weight | 1,050g | 899g |

For Open Category operations in the UK, currently, both the Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced and the Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 can be flown in the A2 subcategory (close to people) with an A2 CofC, or in the A3 subcategory (far from people) without an A2 CofC.
However, from the start of 2026, when the UK CAA recognises EU class markings, the Mavic 3 Enterprise EU-C1 can be flown in the Open Category's A1 subcategory, conducting flights over people: Thus giving operators more freedom.
Please note: A Mavic 3 Enterprise Series drone without a C1 mark cannot be considered C1-compliant if used with an EU-C1 version battery.
