Pre-flight preparations
Prepare the aircraft:Remove the gimbal protector and unfold the aircraft’s arms.
Attach the propellers:
Propellers come in A and B types and must not be reversed.
Attach propellers A (with grey circle markings) to motors with grey markings.
Attach propellers B (without markings) to motors without markings.
Hold the motor, press the propeller down, and rotate in the direction marked on the propeller until it locks in place.
Unfold the propeller blades.
Prepare for flight:
Fly in an open, unobstructed space.
Ensure the propellers and battery are securely installed.
Place the aircraft on level ground with the rear facing you.
Set up the app and settings:
Set the flight mode switch to Normal mode and launch the DJI Fly app.
Open "System Settings" and tap "Safety":
Set the RTH height higher than the tallest nearby object.
Set the Obstacle Avoidance Action to "Bypass" or "Brake".
Ensure the GNSS status icon is white, and the DJI Fly app issues the voice prompt: "Home Point Updated."
Insert a microSD card into the slot if needed. The aircraft has 42 GB of built-in storage and supports microSD card expansion.
Basic flight operations
Auto Takeoff and Landing:
Tap the Takeoff icon on the left side of the app and press and hold the prompt icon to enable Auto Takeoff.
To land automatically, tap the Landing icon and press and hold the prompt.
Manual Takeoff and Landing:
Push the left and right sticks of the remote controller inward or outward simultaneously to start the motors.
Release both sticks once the motors are spinning, then gently push the left control stick up to take off manually.
To land manually, pull the left stick down and continue holding it until the motors stop.
Aircraft controls:
Use the left stick:
Push up or down to ascend or descend.
Push left or right to rotate the aircraft.
Use the right stick:
Push up or down to fly forward or backward.
Push left or right to move horizontally.
Photos and Videos
Operate the camera:
Half-press the focus/photo button on the right side of the remote controller to focus automatically.
Press the Record button to start or stop recording.
Use the left dial to adjust the gimbal tilt and the right dial to control zoom.
Adjust settings:
Access camera parameter settings from the bottom right of the app.
Tap "3" to switch to the medium telephoto camera and adjust the zoom ratio.
Tap "1" to switch to the wide-angle camera.
Playback footage:
Tap the playback icon on the app’s right side to view or download footage.
Exporting footage
Transfer footage:
Recorded footage is stored on the aircraft or a microSD card.
Enable QuickTransfer for fast transfer to your mobile device:
Power on the aircraft and enable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Location on your smartphone.
If "Allow QuickTransfer in Sleep" is enabled, use QuickTransfer while the aircraft is powered off.
Launch the DJI Fly app and tap the QuickTransfer card on the home screen.
For first-time connections, press and hold the aircraft power button for three seconds to confirm.
Select footage in the Album and tap "Download". QuickTransfer supports background downloading.
Smart RTH
Trigger RTH:
Tap the RTH icon in the app and hold down the confirmation pop-up to initiate RTH.
The aircraft will return to the last recorded home point and land.
Remote controller RTH:
Press and hold the RTH button on the remote controller to trigger Smart RTH.
Storage
After flight:
Fold the aircraft arms.
Attach the gimbal protector.
Store the aircraft and all accessories properly.
