DJI Matrice 4E Smart 3D Capture workflow

The DJI Matrice 4E features Smart 3D Capture mode - designed to simplify the process of creating 3D models.

The video above shows how our in-house surveying team utilised this functionality during a recent mission to map a heritage asset in Northumberland, UK.

And the video below shows how it created a detailed model, as shown as a Gaussian Splat.

The Smart 3D Capture process involved an initial flight to generate a sparse point cloud which was used to build a precise mapping route on the controller.

The drone then completed this mission whilst remaining a defined distance from the structure - all without any manual operation.
