Pre-flight preparations

  1. Check the flight environment: Ensure the area is open, unobstructed, and well-lit.

  2. Verify components: Confirm the Intelligent Flight Battery, propellers, and propeller guards are securely mounted.

  3. Remove the gimbal protector: Carefully detach the gimbal protector before powering on.

  4. Check the battery level: Press the power button on the tail of DJI Neo to verify sufficient battery power.

  5. Power on the drone: Press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn on DJI Neo.

  6. Position the aircraft: Place DJI Neo on flat ground with the rear facing you.

Setting up the Remote Controller

  1. Set the flight mode: Toggle the Flight Mode Switch on the remote controller to N-mode.

  2. Prepare the control sticks: Remove the sticks from their storage slots and attach them to the remote controller.

  1. Perform Auto Takeoff:

    1. Tap the "Take Off" icon in the app.

    2. Press and hold the prompt icon to enable Auto Takeoff.

  2. Land automatically:

    1. Tap the "RTH" icon in the app.

    2. Press and hold the prompt in the pop-up window to land DJI Neo automatically.

  3. Perform Manual Takeoff (Mode 2 example):

    1. Pull both sticks to the bottom of the remote controller and push them inwards or outwards to start the motors.

    2. Release the sticks and gently push the left stick up to take off manually.

Basic flight controls

  1. Control altitude and orientation: Use the left stick to adjust the drone's altitude and orientation.

  2. Manage movement: Use the right stick to fly forward, backward, left, or right.

  3. Hover in place: Press the Flight Pause button on the remote controller to make DJI Neo hover.

  4. Monitor telemetry: Check flight data such as distance and speed in the app.

  5. Optimise transmission: Keep the remote controller antenna facing DJI Neo.

Using camera features

  1. Switch modes: Press the Photo/Video button once to toggle between photo and video modes.

QuickShots

  1. Enable QuickShots mode:

    1. Select "QuickShots" in the camera view.

  2. Exit QuickShots: Tap the red icon or press the Flight Pause button to stop the recording and hover.

  3. Prevent interruptions: Avoid accidental stick movements that may stop the recording.

FocusTrack

  1. Activate FocusTrack:

    1. Enable Subject Scanning or manually select a subject in the app.

    2. Choose from "Spotlight", "POI", or "ActiveTrack" modes to track or follow a subject.

  2. Control recording: Start or stop recording using the Shutter/Record button or app controls.

  3. Exit FocusTrack: Press the Flight Pause button to exit the mode.

Return and landing

  1. Initiate RTH: Tap the "RTH" icon in the app or press the RTH button on the remote controller.

  2. Cancel RTH: Stop RTH by tapping the "Cancel" icon or pressing the Flight Pause button if needed.

  3. Regain control: After cancelling RTH, manually resume control of DJI Neo.

  4. Land automatically: Tap the "RTH" icon and press and hold the prompt in the pop-up window to land DJI Neo.

Post-Flight maintenance and storage

  1. Clean the aircraft: Clear air intakes on both sides of DJI Neo to prevent blockage.
