DJI Neo Unboxing Guide

Unboxing and preparing the Neo

  1. Unpack the DJI Neo: Open the box and carefully take out the DJI Neo and its accessories. The DJI Neo Fly More Combo includes two additional Intelligent Flight Batteries, a Charging Hub, and a DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller.

  2. Inspect the drone: Check the appearance of the DJI Neo for any damage or defects.

  3. Remove the gimbal protector: Press down to detach the gimbal protector.

  4. Install the battery: Ensure the battery is correctly installed on the DJI Neo.

  5. Locate key components:

    1. Find the power button on the tail of the DJI Neo.

    2. Identify the Mode button, mode indicators, and battery level indicators on the head of the drone.

  6. Activate the battery: Connect the USB charger to the USB-C port on DJI Neo. The battery is successfully activated when the battery level LEDs light up.

  7. Check and charge the battery:

    1. The LEDs blink in sequence to display the current battery level during charging.

    2. Fully charge the battery to ensure enough power for activation and firmware updates.

Downloading the App

Install the DJI Fly app: Scan the QR code on the Quick Start Guide to download and install the app.

Activating DJI Neo

  1. Prepare for activation: Enable Wi-Fi on your smartphone and ensure it is connected to the Internet.

  2. Log in to the app: Launch the DJI Fly app and register or log in to a DJI account.

  3. Power on the drone: Press and then press and hold the power button on DJI Neo for two seconds to turn it on.

  4. Connect to the app:

    1. On the app home screen, tap "Connection Guide" in the bottom right corner and select the device model.

    2. When prompted, press and hold the power button on DJI Neo to connect.

  5. Complete activation:

    1. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the connection and activation process.

    2. The battery level LEDs blink from inside to out and then turn solid during activation.

  6. DJI Care Refresh: If purchased, complete binding within 48 hours of activating DJI Neo.

Updating firmware

  1. Start the update: When a firmware update prompt appears in the app, tap it to access the update screen.

  2. Install updates: Tap "Update" to install the latest firmware.

  3. Avoid interruptions: Do not power off DJI Neo or exit the app during the update. The drone may restart automatically as part of the process.

  4. Power on after update: After the update, DJI Neo will automatically power off. Turn it back on manually to resume use.

DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller

  1. Prepare the remote controller:

    1. Remove the control sticks from the storage slots and mount them.

    2. Check the battery level by pressing the power button once.

  2. Charge the remote controller: Connect the USB charger to the USB-C port for charging.

  3. Set up the smartphone holder:

    1. Pull out the mobile device holder to locate the controller cable.

    2. Ensure the RC icon connector is inserted correctly.

    3. Unwind the other connector and secure it behind the non-slip pads of the clamp.

  4. Attach the smartphone: Place your smartphone in the holder with the charging port on the right side and secure it.

  5. Power on the remote: Press and then press and hold the power button for two seconds.

  6. Pre-linked devices: For the Fly More Combo, the remote controller and DJI Neo are already pre-linked.

  7. Update firmware: Install firmware updates on the remote controller when prompted.

Replacing the battery

  1. Power off the drone: Press and then press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn off DJI Neo.

  2. Remove the battery: Press the battery latch and push the Intelligent Flight Battery toward the tail to detach it.

  3. Insert a new battery: Align the new battery with the mounting position and push it all the way toward the head of the drone. A "click" sound and the battery latch popping up indicate proper insertion.

Charging Hub

  1. Insert and activate batteries: Place the batteries into the charging hub slots and push them down completely. Connect the USB charger to the USB-C port to activate each battery before use.

  2. Monitor charging: The charging hub LEDs turn solid when the batteries are fully charged.

  3. Use as a power bank: Insert the batteries, connect an external device, and press and hold the function button for three seconds to supply power to the device.
