Emlid launches Reach RS4 Pro, RS4, and RX2: A new generation of RTK GNSS receivers and rovers
Emlid launches Reach RS4 Pro, RS4, and RX2 RTK GNSS receivers/rovers. Learn about their key features, best applications, and how these new products compare.
A new generation of RTK GNSS: Emlid launches Reach RX2, Reach RS4, and Reach RS4 Pro;
RS4 Pro and RS4 feature all-band RTK reception (L1/L2/L5/L6), integrated antenna system, and next-gen IMU tilt compensation with up to 5 times faster initialisation;
RS4 Pro is equipped with dual, factory-calibrated full HD cameras, enabling AR stakeout for fast and easy navigation to points, and measurement from images to capture inaccessible points safely and quickly;
Reach RX2 is an ultra-portable rover that is simple to use, with no settings to configure. New features include all-band RTK support and IMU tilt compensation;
Find out the differences between the three new solutions, and which is best for you;
heliguy™ is an Emlid partner, and our in-house survey department can help you integrate these products through consultancy, supply, and support.
Emlid has introduced a new generation of GNSS receivers/rovers designed to make professional surveying faster, simpler, and more scalable.
This new ecosystem comprises the Reach RX2, the Reach RS4, and the Reach RS4 Pro — each offering centimetre-level accuracy with features tailored to different workflows.

Richard Dunlop, Geospatial Lead at Heliguy said: “The Emlid RX2, RS4 and RS4 Pro are set to revolutionise GNSS and the surveying industry. The added features across all three of the GNSS devices build on what were already successful GNSS receivers.”
From all-band RTK reception and advanced IMU tilt compensation to camera-vision technology for AR stakeout and image-based measurements, these receivers redefine how surveyors, GIS teams, and construction firms capture data.
In this blog, we’ll look at the key features of each model, how they fit into different workflows, and help you decide which receiver is best for your operations.
Emlid Reach RS4
The Emlid Reach RS4 is built for accuracy, speed, and reliability in any environment.
Equipped with all-band RTK support (L1/L2/L5/L6) across every satellite system, it delivers dependable performance in cities, forests, and other tough conditions.

An enhanced GNSS antenna and dual-band Wi-Fi provide stronger, faster connectivity, while the dual-band radio system (Emlid WL1) offers up to 2W of power across 450/915 MHz LoRa and Trimtalk, with global certifications (FCC, CE, IC, GITEKI).
The RS4 includes an integrated antenna with LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth for stable connections, plus a rugged magnesium alloy body with IP68 protection and user-replaceable bumpers.
Its Gen.2 IMU is five times faster than the RS3, fully factory-calibrated, and built around a 6-axis MEMS for industry-leading precision.
A secure quick-release pole mount ensures fast setup and reliable accuracy, even on angled surfaces.
The battery life is equally impressive, with up to two full working days on a single charge.
Security is built in with a hardware secure enclave for encryption keys, secure boot, GDPR-compliant anonymised data collection, and regular firmware updates.
Key features of the Reach RS4
All-band RTK reception (L1/L2/L5/L6) for high performance in difficult conditions.
Integrated antenna with LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Emlid multi-band radio system up to 2W, supporting licensed and licence-free operations.
Next-generation IMU tilt compensation with faster initialisation.
Durable magnesium alloy body with IP68 protection and replaceable bumpers.
Quick release survey pole mount for speed and accuracy.
Made for iPhone certification, compatible with iOS apps such as Esri ArcGIS.
Emlid Reach RS4 Pro
The Emlid Reach RS4 Pro takes everything from the RS4 and adds advanced dual-camera vision technology, pushing surveying beyond traditional RTK.
With fully calibrated HD global-shutter cameras, it introduces AR stakeout and image-based measurement for faster, safer, and more efficient workflows.

Emlid Reach RX2
The Emlid Reach RX2 is an ultra-portable RTK rover designed for teams that need fast, accurate results without complex setup, as you don’t need to configure the settings to get started.

Pocket-sized and simple to use, it connects straight out of the box and delivers centimetre-level accuracy in the field.
The RX2 builds on the original Reach RX, keeping its lightweight design while adding tilt compensation, 672-channel all-band GNSS, and L-band correction support.
Key features of the Reach RX2
All-band RTK support (L1/L2/L5/L6) for reliable performance in obstructed areas
Second-generation IMU tilt compensation for accurate, level-free measurements
Quick release pole mount for fast and secure deployment
Seamless integration with Esri ArcGIS apps for GIS data collection
Lightweight, pocket-sized design for easy portability
Similar to the RS4 and RS4 Pro, the RX2 has an easy-to-follow workflow, compatible with the Emlid Flow app, simply connect your receiver to your phone and start surveying.
Additionally, the RS4 and RS4 Pro can be used with the RX2 using an Emlid NTRIP Caster.
Emlid Reach RS4 Pro vs Emlid Reach RS4 vs Emlid Reach RX2: Which GNSS RTK receiver is best for me?
The Reach RX2, RS4, and RS4 Pro are designed to deliver professional-grade precision with consumer-level simplicity.
Scalable and easy to use, these receivers are suitable for both individual surveyors and large teams working across industries such as GIS, utilities, and construction.
