How To Do Hyperlapse With DJI Mini 4 Pro
Step-by-step guide to conducting a hyperlapse with the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone.
The DJI Mini 4 Pro takes aerial videography to the next level with its Hyperlapse mode, allowing you to capture stunning time-lapse videos that showcase dynamic scenes like traffic flow, drifting clouds, or breathtaking sunsets.
This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of setting up and using Hyperlapse, as well as exploring its various shooting modes such as Free, Circle, Course Lock, and Waypoints.

Hyperlapse Modes
Free Mode
Set the maximum flight speed.
Manually control aircraft movements and gimbal tilt during the shoot.
If focusing on a specific subject, drag-select it on the screen, and the camera will keep facing the subject while you control the flight.
Circle Mode
Select a subject, set the circle speed and direction.
Tap the Shutter/Record button to begin shooting. The aircraft will calculate the distance from the subject, fly around it horizontally, and start capturing photos.
During the flight:
Use the roll stick to adjust circling speed.
Use the throttle stick to change altitude.
Use the pitch stick to modify the distance from the subject.
Course Lock Mode
Set the aircraft's heading in the desired direction.
Tap the Lock icon to lock the heading as the flight route.
Configure the interval time, video length, and flight speed.
After locking the direction, you can adjust the aircraft's heading, but the flight route remains unchanged.
Waypoints Mode
Fly the aircraft to the starting point and adjust the frame.
Tap the Plus (+) icon to add the first waypoint, which will record the aircraft’s location and gimbal angle.
Fly to subsequent locations, adjust the heading and gimbal tilt, and add additional waypoints.
The aircraft will generate a flight route based on the set waypoints. You can view this route on the map.
Tap the three dots in the settings panel to configure shooting sequence, interval time, and video length.
Tap the Shutter/Record button, and the aircraft will automatically fly along the route to begin shooting.
Note: Manual control using the sticks is disabled in Waypoints mode. For previously saved routes, start from the original takeoff point to ensure consistent footage.
Exiting Hyperlapse Mode
During shooting, tap the
Stop
icon on the right side of the camera view or press the
Flight Pause
button on the remote controller. The aircraft will hover.
Video Playback
After the Hyperlapse is completed, the aircraft will automatically compile the photos into a video.
Tap the Playback button to preview your Hyperlapse footage.
