DJI Enterprise's first parachute system for the Matrice 400. The AP100 supports automatic and manual deployments, slowing the aircraft's descent to help protect the aircraft, payload, people, and property below.
Certified for compliance When paired with AP100, DJI M400 meets EASA/UK CAA C5/C6 and UK5/UK6 safety requirements. Facilitates compliance for Standard Scenarios, including flights over populated urban areas (STS-01) and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations (STS-02).
Fast deployment <600 ms response time, achieving a descent speed below 5 m/s.
Dedicated parachute for M400 This lightweight parachute (935g) is rear-mounted and can be used when flying existing M400 payloads. It also fits within the standard M400 carrying case.
Safety redundancy Independent power, sensing, execution, and communication links, separate from the aircraft's main flight systems.

FAQ
DJI AP100 regulation and certification
Built to support compliant operations in the UK and EU
UK5/UK6 safety requirements (UK): When paired with DJI AP100 Parachute, Matrice 400 meets the European Union Aviation Safety Agency's (EASA) C5/C6 and the UK Civil Aviation Authority's (CAA) UK5/UK6 operational safety requirements*. It facilitates compliance for Standard Scenarios, including flights over populated urban areas (STS-01) and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations (STS-02).
MOC 2511/MOC 2512 Declaration of Compliance: Self-declared compliance standard covering EU FTS validation and EU ground risk mitigation validation.
F3322 Certification: A performance standard specific to small UAS parachute systems.
*Mounting DJI AP100 Parachute on an existing Matrice 400 meets C5 or UK5 operational safety requirements (applicable for STS-01). To meet C6 or UK6 requirements (applicable for STS-02), users must purchase the DJI Matrice 400 (C6) Combo. Under applicable regulations, the C6 or UK6 Class label applies only to factory-certified systems and cannot be obtained by mounting a parachute onto an existing aircraft. Operators with existing DJI M400s can purchase an AP100 and then send both products to DJI for retrospective UK6/C6 class-marking. Heliguy can handle the shipping process for you.

Purpose-built for DJI M400
Enterprise-ready integration
Weatherproofing: IP55 rated and -20°C to 50°C operating range - matching the environmental envelope of the DJI M400.
Compatibility: Use with M400 payload combinations, including the DJI Zenmuse Series.
Dedicated bracket: AP100 Parachute is installed via the dedicated Accessory Bracket at Port 4, alongside the recommended gimbal bracket for the primary payload.
Rear-mounted design: With no interference to batteries or payloads.
Lightweight: Weighs only 935g and maintains Matrice 400's full 15.8kg max takeoff weight.
Easy storage: DJI Matrice 400 fits directly into the original carrying case with the parachute attached.

How deployment works
Automatic, manual, or remote - with safeguards built in
Automatic deployment: Triggers when abnormal aircraft attitude (severe rolling or diving) or abnormal speed (free fall or rapid altitude drop) is detected, as the system's core response to prevent loss-of-control crashes.
Manual deployment: In an emergency, tap the parachute icon in the DJI Pilot 2 flight interface and swipe right to deploy. The landing point is then recorded and reported.
FlightHub 2 web remote deployment: In regions supporting FTS, users can trigger deployment via a web interface, using the aircraft's serial number and a verification code, once a DJI Cellular Dongle and 4G connection are installed.
Geocaging deployment: Defines a Flight Geography (safe operating zone) and Contingency Volume (buffer zone) - exiting the combined Operational Volume automatically triggers FTS.
Rapid deployment: The parachute deploys at a stabilised descent speed of ≤ 5 m/s at deployment altitude ≥ 30 m.
Gas generator: The parachute features a pyrotechnic ejection. A small explosive charge generates high-pressure gas, instantly blowing open the hatch and ejecting the parachute pack.

Safety redundancy
Independent from the aircraft's main systems, by design
Self-check and diagnostics: Continuous self-diagnostics on the gas generator and communication links. If an anomaly occurs, real-time alerts are displayed via the Health Management System in DJI Pilot 2.
Independent execution: The parachute's FTS sends trigger commands directly to the ESC via its own circuit, and instantly cuts motor power to prevent parachute line entanglement.
Independent link: A 4G transmission link provides a dedicated manual-trigger channel, separate from the standard RC link.
Independent sensing: Uses its own sensors for key status determination, rather than relying fully on the main flight controller's data.
Independent power: Built-in dual capacitors keep the processor, sensors, and ejector powered - enabling automatic deployment even during a drone power failure.
Post-deployment alarms: Continuous audible and visual alarms warn ground personnel to keep clear and assist with equipment recovery.

DJI AP100 application scenarios
Supporting safer operations across urban and specialist drone missions
Medical supplies delivery: Lab-to-hospital and blood centre transport, emergency deliveries of medical supplies such as AEDs and medicines. Delivers fast, time-critical transport with supplemental capacity.
Sample/document delivery: Water quality, oil, or government document sampling and delivery - fast and lower-cost than traditional methods. Special terrain and last-mile delivery: Island or remote-area delivery of documents, supplies, or small parcels, expanding service radius.
Instant delivery: Food or small-item pilot delivery, supporting commercial pilot and model validation.
Facade cleaning: Supports M400-carried cleaning equipment flown close to glass curtain walls on high-rise buildings - the parachute lowers operational safety risk during ultra-close operations and supports permit acquisition, a growing requirement from building owners and regulators.
Urban patrol: Paired with the H30T, Spotlight, and Speaker, for traffic management, event security, and emergency broadcast coverage across streets, squares, and populated areas - expanding safe operating range and providing a public safety fallback in the case of irreversible failure.
