Enhance Drone Mapping Missions
The DJI Phantom 4 RTK SDK Edition allows commercial operators to enhance their drone surveying missions by accessing a vast ecosystem of drone apps to maximise the drone's capabilities.
This package is similar to the standard Phantom 4 RTK offering, except that it features the Phantom 4 RTK SDK Remote Controller without screen.
Unlike the standard remote controller, the Phantom 4 RTK SDK Remote Controller is Mobile SDK compatible, meaning that pilots familiar with using 3rd party applications on DJI drones can now access the world's leading drone app ecosystem.
Another advantage of the SDK Remote Controller is that users can connect a compatible Android or iOS device and install any compatible DJI Mobile SDK-enabled app. This enables operators to leverage these developer tools to optimise the capability of the DJI Phantom 4 RTK for surveying missions and other data acquisition scenarios.
Similar to the standard remote controller, the SDK Remote Controller features the DJI OcuSync transmission system, with reliable HD image and video transmission at distances of up to 7km (dependent on region).
Users who already own a Phantom 4 RTK can purchase the SDK remote controller separately.
The Phantom 4 RTK is DJI's most compact and accurate low-altitude mapping solution. This next-generation surveying platform offers centimetre-accurate data while requiring fewer ground control points.

Where Can I Fly?
Drone pilots should follow the Drone Code, or permissions granted by their PfCO/standard permission.
Do I need to register my drone in the UK?
Yes. See the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Service page for more details.
After December 31 2020 (Transitional Period)
Where Can I Fly?
There can be no uninvolved people present within the area of flight; and there can be no flight within 150m horizontally of residential, commercial, industrial, or recreational areas (A3 subcategory of Open category).
Want more freedom? Complete an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and you can fly as close as 50m horizontally of uninvolved people (A2 subcategory).
There is no limitation on proximity to buildings. But this is not a free for all, because the prescribed separation distances from uninvolved people still apply to persons that are occupants of any vehicle, vessel or structure.
How Do I Get an A2 CofC?
Sit an A2 CofC with a Recognised Assessment Entity, such as Heliguy. The A2 CofC course is currently being run online through heliguy™ Learning Management System.

What Happens If I Have a PfCO?
Holders of a standard permission valid beyond December 31 2020 can operate under the terms of the permission, until their renewal date. Then apply to fly under an Operational Authorisation (replacing the PfCO).
From January 2023 (End of Transitional Period)
The rules will change for DJI aircraft in their current form. Updated information released nearer the time.
