The XGRIDS Lixel L3 is a flagship handheld spatial scanner built for high-accuracy surveying, engineering and reality capture. It combines validated 5 mm relative accuracy, integrated RTK, 4K HDR imaging and on-device visualisation to produce measurement-ready point clouds, detailed meshes and photorealistic 3D Gaussian Splatting scenes from a single scan.
Validated 5 mm accuracy Delivers 5 mm post-processed relative accuracy and 2 cm post-processed absolute accuracy in XGRIDS' documented test conditions.
Two scanner options Choose a 16-channel or 32-channel LiDAR configuration; both provide a scan range of up to 120 m.
4K HDR imaging A 1/1.3-inch sensor and triple 50 MP camera array capture richer colour, highlights and shadow detail.
Integrated RTK Built-in positioning, real-time coordinate conversion and 0.005° levelness with RTK fusion support professional workflows.
Three outputs from one scan Generate a true-colour point cloud, textured mesh, and photorealistic 3DGS scene from the same dataset.
On-device workflow View the point cloud, trajectory and coverage on the integrated 4.3-inch, 1000-nit display - no phone required.
Survey support Access support from the heliguy™ in-house survey division for solution selection, workflow integration and data-processing support.

FAQ
Lixel L3 key features
High-accuracy capture, imaging-grade colour and field-ready operation
Validated accuracy: 5 mm post-processed relative accuracy, validated in a 500 m² test environment.
Absolute positioning: 2 cm post-processed absolute accuracy and 2.5 cm real-time absolute accuracy.
Two LiDAR options: 16-channel and 32-channel versions, both with a 120 m scanning range.
4K HDR imaging: Triple 50 MP camera system with 4K HDR and 4096 × 3072 output.
Integrated RTK: Integrated high-accuracy RTK and 0.005° levelness with RTK fusion.
Real-time optimisation: Real-time dynamic-object removal, noise filtering, smoothing and loop-closure optimisation.
Three spatial outputs: True-colour point cloud, textured mesh and Lixel CyberColour 3DGS outputs from one capture.
Field-ready design: 4.3-inch, 1000-nit display, ergonomic support rig and direct connection to standard RTK survey poles. L3 is IP54-rated and has a runtime of 100 minutes.
Use cases: Lixel L3 is beneficial for applications across architecture, digital twin, film production, cultural heritage and tourism.
Validated 5mm accuracy
Measurement-ready data for surveying, CAD and BIM
Dependable measurements: The Lixel L3 achieves 5 mm post-processed relative accuracy and 2 cm post-processed absolute accuracy, giving teams dependable spatial data for measurement, drafting, modelling and engineering decisions.
Documented validation: Its accuracy figure is supported by an official validation method and measurement data. Testing was completed in a dedicated 500 m² environment, with figures stated at 1 sigma, making it clear where the 5mm performance applies.

Imaging-grade true colour
See natural colour and detail across every output
Richer site context: The large 1/1.3-inch sensor, three 50 MP cameras and 4K HDR imaging retain colour and tonal detail across bright highlights and deep shadows. The result is clearer identification of materials, fittings and site features.
Detail where it matters: Local point-cloud enhancement can upsample priority objects such as railings, pipework and nameplates, helping preserve the detail that matters without unnecessarily increasing processing time or file size.

Stable capture across complex sites
Reduce drift, layering and avoidable return visits
Constrained trajectories: Integrated RTK, a high-accuracy IMU and real-time loop-closure optimisation help keep trajectories constrained during long, continuous scans.
Challenging-environment performance: The L3 is optimised for urban canyons, repetitive structures, tunnels and other low-feature environments, as well as areas affected by GNSS obstruction or reflective interference. This supports more complete capture with less post-processing correction.

Usable point clouds from the field
Review coverage and start work sooner
Real-time deliverables: The L3 generates a true-colour point cloud during capture, with 2.5 cm real-time absolute accuracy, real-time WGS 84 and CGCS2000 coordinate conversion, loop closure and levelness optimisation.
Cleaner on-site data: AI-powered filtering removes moving people, vehicles and noise in the same pass. Operators can inspect the point cloud, trajectory and coverage on the built-in display and identify gaps before leaving site.

One scan, three spatial outputs
Support engineering, digital twin and creative workflows
Three complementary outputs: A single L3 dataset can produce an imaging-grade true-colour point cloud, a detailed textured mesh and a photorealistic LCC 3DGS scene.
Multiple downstream workflows: Use the point cloud for measurement, plans, elevations, sections and Scan-to-BIM; the mesh for surfaces and structural context; and LCC 3DGS for immersive digital twins, virtual production and stakeholder communication.

Designed for longer field sessions
Integrated controls and ergonomic support
Built-in screen: The 4.3-inch, 1000-nit built-in display shows point cloud, trajectory and coverage without requiring a connected phone.
Ergonomic support: At 2.5 kg including battery, the L3 is supported by a shoulder strap, torso brace and telescoping arm, allowing the operator to steady the scanner while the rig carries its weight.
Faster control-point capture: A control-point tip at the handle base enables wall points to be measured without tilting the scanner. Trigger a measurement from the display or power button, connect directly to a standard RTK survey pole, and swap clip-on fast-charging batteries to keep projects moving.

Open data and existing workflows
Move captured data into the tools your team already uses
Access to creator data: LixelStudio provides access to Creator Data including perspective images and COLMAP datasets, while LCC can expose original images and 3DGS intermediate data. SDKs and plugins support extended workflows.
Professional integration: Outputs can feed CAD, Revit Scan-to-BIM and digital-twin pipelines, while XGRIDS Lixel CyberColor 3DGS scenes can be used in Unreal Engine and NVIDIA Isaac Sim. Map fusion also combines scan segments through region-selection matching without control points.
