What did the three OSC volumes cover, and what is needed now?
Under the former OSC methodology, applications were usually presented in three volumes:
an Operations Manual
a UAS System(s) volume
a Safety Risk Assessment
The OSC was replaced by UK SORA in April 2025.
A UK SORA application instead centres on a detailed description of your intended operation. That description is used to assess ground and air risk, determine the SAIL (Specific Assurance and Integrity Level), and show how your mitigations and operational procedures meet the required safety objectives. heliguy™'s regulatory team can guide you through the process.
