What's the difference between RPC Level 1 and the GVC?

Both RPC-L1 and the GVC remain valid qualifications, and the right choice depends on your operational requirements and future ambitions.

The GVC continues to be a suitable route for many operators, particularly those conducting PDRA-01 operations. It's worth noting that GVC is being phased out, with the RPC-L1 its successor.

RPC-L1 introduces a competency-based approach to training and provides the foundation for progression to the wider Remote Pilot Certificate framework, including PDRA-01, UK SORA, RPC-L2, and RPC-L3, including BVLOS operations.

If you're unsure which qualification is right for you, our training team will be happy to recommend the most appropriate route.

For RPC-L1, heliguy™ offers RPC-L1 training, as well as a GVC to RPC-L1 Conversion Course for existing GVC holders wanting to transition.
