CAP3127: CAA Responds to Detect & Avoid Policy Consultation
CAA releases DAA consultation summary and outlines next steps for BVLOS integration
The CAA has published a summary document following the Detect and Avoid (DAA) Policy Concept Consultation, which ran from 25 July to 19 September 2024.
The consultation focused on DAA as a key enabler for scalable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations in the UK. It outlined the CAA’s position on DAA functionality, standardised terminology, and proposed requirements for assurance and approval.
A total of 59 responses were received, with 15 made publicly available. Stakeholders rated key factors on a 6-point scale and provided detailed comments.
