Pre-flight Preparations

Before every flight, you must...

  2. Verify battery levels: Press the power button once to check the battery level and ensure there is enough power for the flight.

  3. Prepare the aircraft: Unfold the arms of the aircraft, which will power on automatically.

  4. Hold the aircraft correctly: Grip the sides of the aircraft body from below with the camera facing you, making sure your fingers are not within the rotation range of the propellers.

  5. Confirm the default mode: The default mode is Follow when powering on the aircraft for the first time.

  6. Switch modes if needed: Press the mode button once to change modes. The corresponding mode indicator on the front of the aircraft will light up.

Available modes include: Follow, Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, and Custom.

Palm take-off

To take off from the palm of your hand...

  1. Position the camera: Face the camera toward the subject and hold it steady.

  2. Select a mode: Press and hold the mode button to choose a mode.

  3. Take off automatically: The aircraft will announce the selected mode, begin a countdown, and then take off automatically.

  4. Cancel takeoff if needed: Press the mode button again before the countdown ends to cancel the takeoff.

Flight

When flying your DJI Flip you must...

  1. Follow mode after takeoff: Once the aircraft takes off, it will automatically follow you from behind while recording.

  2. Default follow distance: The aircraft maintains a default follow distance of 3 metres.

  3. Hovering behaviour: If you move toward the aircraft, it will hover in place and will not fly backward as you approach.

  4. Ensure safety: Perform all actions cautiously to prevent collisions.

  5. Hover when stationary: When you stop moving, the aircraft will hover in place.

Palm landing

To land your DJI Flip on your palm...

  1. Approach the aircraft: Move toward the aircraft and extend your arm.

  2. Catch safely: Place your hand underneath the aircraft to securely catch it and prevent it from falling after landing.
