DroneControl adds Instant Media Upload

DroneControl's Instant Media Upload uploads your photos in real time while the drone is in the air, while videos are automatically transferred once it lands.

DroneControl has launched Instant Media Upload — transforming how drone operators capture, handle, and distribute mission-critical imagery.

With this new functionality, high-resolution photos and videos are automatically transferred from the remote controller straight into the DroneControl Portal — securely, seamlessly, and without delay.

heliguy™ is a DroneControl partner and can help you integrate it into your operations. For more details, contact our enterprise specialists.

Real-time drone image streaming — directly from the sky

Operators can now watch their photos appear in the DroneControl Portal the moment they’re taken, even while the drone is still airborne.

Each image is transmitted instantly via an encrypted, secure link to the pilot’s cloud environment, ready for immediate access, analysis, and collaboration.

This innovation removes the hassle of manual file transfers and SD card handling. Teams in control rooms can now track uploads live, tag images, and review data mid-flight — significantly boosting situational awareness and operational efficiency.

Automatic drone video upload after landing

As soon as the aircraft touches down, all recorded footage is automatically uploaded to the Portal. Within moments, the entire mission’s media package is safely archived and readily available.

This automated process preserves data integrity and chain of custody, ensuring every file moves directly from field equipment to the organisation’s secure central system — with no manual steps or risk of tampering.

And it is more efficient than traditional manual video upload - a major advantage for emergency response, inspection, and security operations.

Secure solution

Like all DroneControl solutions, this feature leverages end-to-end AES-256 encryption and integrates with both localised hosting and on-premise deployments.

Every image and video is time-stamped, geotagged, and linked to its corresponding flight log, ensuring complete traceability and data confidence.
