Using the DJI FlyCart 30 – First Flight Setup

Step-by-step guide to prepare and operate the DJI FlyCart 30 for a safe first flight.

This guide provides a step-by-step overview of how to prepare and use the DJI FlyCart 30 for its first flight.

Follow these instructions to ensure a safe and efficient flying experience.

Activating the Remote Controller and Battery Charging Hub

Activate the Remote Controller

  1. Charge the Remote Controller: Fully charge the built-in battery to activate it.

  2. Install the Dongle:

    • Remove the two cross-head screws.

    • Plug the antenna into the 4G port and insert the dongle into the USB-C port.

    • Ensure the DJI logo faces outward and tighten the screws back.

  3. Setup Permissions:

    • Read and agree to the user agreement and privacy policy.

    • Grant required permissions, select a network security mode, and tap confirm.

  4. Power On: After charging, short press and long press the power button to turn it on.

Activate the C8000 Intelligent Charging Hub

  1. Use a USB-C cable to connect the remote controller to the charging hub.

  2. Open DJI Pilot 2 and activate the hub on the settings screen.

  3. Plug two AC cables into the hub and separate 16A power sockets (avoid using the same 220V power supply).

  4. Connect the intelligent flight battery to the hub's power cable and power it on.

Activating the Aircraft

  1. Power On: Turn on the remote controller and drone.

  2. Activate via DJI Pilot 2:

    • The activation page will appear automatically.

    • Read and authorize terms, select usage scenarios, and confirm account activation.

    • Tap "Activate" and restart the drone to complete activation.

  3. Linking: The remote controller and drone are linked in factory mode. To re-link:

    • Tap "Link to Aircraft" in DJI Pilot 2.

    • During linking, the remote controller blinks blue and beeps.

    • Press and hold the drone power button for 5+ seconds until the indicator blinks.

    • Indicators will turn solid green when linking is successful.

Preparing the Drone

  1. Position the Drone: Place the drone on open, unobstructed, and horizontal ground.

  2. Unfold Components:

    • Extend the frame arms and tighten the arm lock.

    • Unfold the propeller blades.

  3. Battery Installation:

    • Single Battery Mode: For emergencies, install one battery in the rear compartment with a cover. Max load: 40kg (shortermileage).

    • Dual Battery Mode: Install batteries in both compartments, ensuring they click into place. Max load: 30kg (longer mileage).

Starting the Flight

  1. Power on the remote controller and drone.

  2. Open DJI Pilot 2 and complete the pre-flight checklist.

  3. Unfold the remote controller antennas for optimal communication.

  4. Maintain a safe distance of 10m before takeoff.

  5. Push the left and right control sticks inward or outward to start the motor.

  6. Gently push the throttle stick to take off manually.

Mode 2 Controls

  • Left Stick: Adjust altitude and nose direction.

  • Right Stick: Move forward, backward, left, and right.

  • Flight Pause Button: Pause and hover in any flight condition.

  • RTH Button: Press and hold for Smart Return to Home.

Additional Features

  1. Camera Views and Controls:

    • View flight distance, altitude, and speed on the transmission screen.

    • Use the left dial to adjust the gimbal pitch angle.

    • Tap the FPV icon to switch between map and FPV views.

  2. Pinpoints and Elevation Profile:

    • Add pinpoints in the map view by pressing L1.

    • View the elevation profile by pressing R2.

  3. Battery Hot Swapping (Dual Battery Mode): Replace one battery at a time without powering off the drone.

Post-Flight Steps

  1. Remove and Store Batteries: Place them in the battery safety box.

  2. Fold the Drone: Secure the propellers with a clamp, pull the buckles, and fold the frame arms.

  3. Store Safely: Fold the antennas and store the remote controller in its box. Secure the drone for transportation.
