UPDATE (June 8, 2020): The European drone regulations which were set to start in the UK in July, and then in November, have been delayed for a second time and will now start on December 31, 2020. Read more about it and how it affects you here.
Heliguy has unveiled Heliguy Blackbox – a comprehensive online drone training hub and industry resource portal.
The e-learning suite is packed with dedicated and tailored content to help you become a qualified UAS operator and unlock the full potential of your unmanned aircraft.
Heliguy is a CAA-approved NQE, and Blackbox takes all the benefits of our traditional classroom-based Ground School and transforms it into a digestible digital format – giving you the chance to access on-demand content and learn at your own pace, wherever and whenever you like.
Heliguy Blackbox features a unique blend of training and an easily-accessible syllabus, consisting of pre-recorded videos (like the one below), task sheets, coursework, and quizzes. This means that you can replay media and download learning material for an effective, thorough and convenient educational experience.
You can also take advantage of live and interactive training support from our expert instructors, who will be on the other end of a video stream to navigate you through the course, offer valuable support, and answer questions in real-time.
Heliguy Blackbox will also give you the chance to expand your knowledge and prepare for your exam in a dynamic group environment and benefit from being part of a virtual online community with your fellow cohort of e-learning course candidates.
In these unprecedented times of isolation, a virtual classroom provides a safe and secure learning environment.
Blackbox members can also access bonus material to take their learning further, such as additional industry courses, Heliguy’s library of in-depth blogs and tutorials, product discounts, and Operations Manual renewals.
Heliguy Blackbox – Start Dates, Prices And Free Course Transfer
Heliguy Blackbox will go live on Tuesday, April 14. The online training is available for the A2 CofC and GVC, in line with the new European regulations commencing on December 31, 2020 (delayed from July, and then November, 2020). Both courses can be booked now.
However, we are giving any Heliguy PfCO candidate who has not yet completed their course the option to transfer for FREE to either the A2 CofC or GVC online course.
This offer applies to:
- Any candidate who has completed the PfCO Ground School with Heliguy, but not passed their Flight Assessment. This only applies to candidates who started the PfCO course from 2018 onward;
- Any candidate who is about to start our PfCO course before May 1, 2020, and cannot complete before the CAA extension period elapses (September 1, 2020).
Any candidate who has already booked onto a Heliguy traditional classroom course for the A2 CofC or GVC can transfer to the online training.
Because Heliguy Blackbox (which can also be accessed via app) is more than just an online training platform – offering a wealth of helpful industry information – membership is free for current or past Heliguy candidates, to help them continue their professional development.
“Heliguy Blackbox Is A Container Of Information”
Ben Shirley, Head of Training at Heliguy, said: “We are excited to launch Heliguy Blackbox – our online training resource for the quickly evolving drone industry.
“We have used the Blackbox terminology because, like a traditional Blackbox, our e-learning portal is a container of information. But this is much more than just an online training platform. We want our candidates to continue to develop their professional knowledge and capabilities throughout their career using Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
“Our remote online training hub provides a flexible learning solution, giving candidates the chance to go through the course content at their own convenience, under their own steam, and access it anywhere.
“We believe that online training is the future and provides numerous benefits for course candidates. We are taking our candidates beyond the standard syllabus and providing additional value-added learning to ensure our candidates receive the very best training available.
“Not only does this provide flexibility, but it also reduces the travel and accommodation costs associated with our traditional Ground School classroom environment.
“But learning remotely doesn’t mean you have to learn alone, and our dedicated team of instructors will be offering live and interactive course delivery, meaning that you can speak directly to an instructor from the comfort of your own home. Candidates can also benefit from the contributions of others on the course and make full use of the Heliguy community.”
