DJI Mini 3 Pro - No Controller

For the first time, DJI has introduced a standalone unit so existing users can upgrade their photography equipment without laying aside their DJI RC-N1 remote controllers.

Indeed, this package is ideal for operators who are already using the DJI RC-N1 with other DJI aircraft.

Priced at £639 on launch, this option is the cheapest of the three Mini 3 Pro packages and represents a cost-effective choice for existing users.

This stand-alone option is due for launch in June 2022.

DJI Mini 3 Pro With DJI RC-N1 Controller

The DJI Mini 3 Pro and RC-N1 controller bundle is ideal for those on a budget and/or anyone who is new to DJI drones.

Priced £709 at launch, it contains enough to get you going, although the separate DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Kit contains additional accessories to take your flights further. More of this later.

The DJI RC-N1 controller - which delivers a smooth and responsive flying experience - has the DJI O3 video transmission system and offers a max video bitrate of 18Mbps delivered at an ultra-low latency of 120ms.

Operators need to use a mobile device with the RC-N1. Accessories are available to maximise this combination. For instance, the Monitor Hood protects smartphone screens in strong lighting conditions and reduces glare for a clearer image during use...

...while the Tablet Holder is compatible with most tablets on the market to help operators use a larger screen during missions.

The DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller has a battery life of around six hours when not charging a mobile device, or four hours when charging a mobile device.

DJI Mini 3 Pro With DJI RC Smart Controller

The ultimate package for an upgraded flight control experience.

This combo - the most expensive, priced £859 at launch - features the all-new DJI RC smart controller.

This lightweight controller - weighing 390g - comes with a built-in 5.5-inch touchscreen with a HD display which offers enhanced monitoring, composing and framing.

The bright screen also provides a reliable experience under direct sunlight, enabling operators to continue to benefit from good visibility: Something which isn't always the case when using a phone or tablet.

The DJI RC also comes with the DJI Fly app pre-installed. This means that you don't need to connect your phone to fly, meaning you free up your mobile device and save on its battery.

Providing a smooth and responsive flying experience, offering a max video bitrate of 18Mbps delivered at an ultra-low latency of 120ms. It also offers around four hours of run time.

Increase the DJI RC's storage capacity with a microSD card. Users can store images and videos on the card and export them to a computer or other devices.

The DJI RC can support the DJI O3 and O3+ transmission systems. As such, it is also compatible with the DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine, and DJI says it will be compatible with other drones in the future.

Once connected to a compatible drone, DJI RC will automatically switch to the corresponding video transmission technology.

The Mini 3 Pro and DJI RC combo is the most expensive of the trio of Mini 3 Pro packages, but for under £900, you are getting plenty for your money, especially with a smart controller thrown into the equation.

DJI Mini 3 Pro: Accessories - Fly More Kit

A wealth of accessories are available for the Mini 3 Pro, but perhaps the most beneficial is the Fly More Kit.

This package features some essential accessories to take missions further and, at £159, it is more cost-effective than purchasing these extras separately.

Indeed, the Fly More Kit includes two Intelligent Flight Batteries, a Two-Way Charging Hub, data cable, shoulder bag, spare propellers, and screws, providing comprehensive support for your aerial photography experience.

Looking into some of these items in a bit more detail, the Two-way Charging Hub can charge the remote controller and three batteries in sequence. It can also be used as a mobile power source.

Meanwhile, the bag - specially made for DJI Mini 3 Pro - provides enough space for one drone and accessories like a remote controller, three batteries, one charging hub, propellers, ND filter set, data cable, and an SD card.

DJI Mini 3 Pro: Accessories - Wide-Angle Lens and ND Filter Set

Other accessories for the Mini 3 Pro include a set of ND Filters (16/64/256) to help content creators adapt to strong lighting conditions...

...and a Wide-Angle Lens, which expands the field of view from 81.5° to 114° when taking photos and from 75° to 100° when recording video (16:9).

Meanwhile, to give you peace of mind while flying your drone, heliguy™ is offering its Repair Refresh crash cover for the Mini 3 Pro, which offers a repair or replacement within a 12-month period.

DJI Mini 3 Pro Combos: Summary

The DJI Mini 3 Pro is an awesome drone.

And with three combo options available, operators have plenty of scope to pick the right package for them.

The bundle with the new DJI RC is a stellar choice, while the RC-N1 option is a nice middle-ground for new pilots on a budget.

And the drone-only package is a great introduction to the market, enabling existing DJI RC-N1 users to seamlessly add the Mini 3 Pro to their fleet without being left with a surplus controller.

It means that whichever package you chose, you will be able to enjoy and utilise the Mini 3 Pro, which offers a perfect blend of power, portability and performance.
