How do I update the firmware on the Ronin-S?
Power on the Ronin-S and connect it to your PC or MAC. Then, use the DJI Pro Assistant for the Ronin.

Can the camera mounting plate with the Ronin-S be used with a quick-release system?
The camera mounting plate for the Ronin-S is compatible with the Manfrotto 501PL. You can dismount the camera setup from the Ronin-S and mount it on a fluid head system or compatible tripod.
What battery does the Ronin-S use?
The Ronin-S uses an RB1-2400 mAh- 14.4 V Intelligent Battery.
What’s the expected battery of the Ronin-S?
The Ronin-S battery will provide power for 12 hours of continuous use if the camera is properly balanced.
How is the Ronin-S battery charged?
To charge the battery, connect the Ronin-S grip to the gimbal and charge using a USB-C cable. Charging will take around two hours. A battery adapter will also be available for battery charging/discarding without attaching to the gimbal.
What is the Ronin app used for?
The Ronin app will let you complete the Ronin-S setup and fine-tuning. Settings are available for features including SmoothTrack, intelligent features and the motor parameters.
Is GPS available on the module?
The Ronin-S doesn’t feature built-in GPS, however, will be available for car mounting scenarios to ensure gimbal accuracy.

Thanks for your help. I think I will design one. I did see one that wraps around the base of the handle and has the tripod screw thread offset to the side. I think I can do better, a hinged bottom plate, with a tripod screw hole in the center and a clasp that inserts into the handle release slot.

Both my emails where answered to help try and fault find my problem, so I can see if it would be cost affective to repair myself. Before deciding weather it's worth spending too much to have the drone sent in for repair.

I requested a repair. Told heliguy what was wrong. He gave me advice. Totaly sorted all my problems so didnt have to send away. I got a response 29 minutes after i messaged.
